I've enjoyed reading your story so far. I was a little sad you didn't use Olivet as the shrink, even though it wouldn't be normal in everyday life. I really appreciate your efforts in doing research for the psychiatric unit. As a graduate student in psychology, I feel like that aspect of stories often is neglected. One thing I read in this chapter I wanted to address is the fact that it isn't unprofessional for doctors to care about their patients. On the contrary, it's necessary for doctors to care about their patients and for patients to feel that the doctors care; it's a critical component of what's called the therapeutic relationship that helps them heal. A doctor's compassion and concern for their patients is the foundation for the entire process. All the therapeutic techniques, insight and analysis in the world can only go so far without the care of the doctor. It's the foundational building block for the entire course of treatment, whther it's inpatient or outpaitent treatment. I know that I would like Dr. Rose a lot more if she allowed herself to feel that way about Casey. Feel free to let me know if you have any other questions. I can't wait for your next update!

A very revealing chapter. Poor Casey has been harboring this guilt for years. Perhaps it motivated her to become an ADA.

By the way, I remember the episode in which Casey reveals that her father had taught her to fire his guns. Good memory.

I enjoyed the banter and Christmas spirit at the station house. By the way, you're confusing actor Adam Beach's name with his character's name: Detective Chester Lake.

Elliot's wondering thoughts vs. his spoken word indicate good prudence on his part. This is characteristic of him. He only gets into verbal trouble when he is very angry.
