You did good till you had kami inari start yammering about how much of a genius he was at making childish and truthfully rather dumb tricks. After you got over that you got good again. You could almost remove every line involving kami inari and the story would make more sense and be better off.

I hate it when people get a really good story going and then just stop. Instantly. It pisses me off, honestly it's BS doing something like that.
