Bro, thank you SO MUCH for writing this! It also pisses me off when people characterize Dean as dumb, because he's so freaking smart. He had a really rough childhood that made it hard to learn stuff in school, and like you said, he probably didn't see much point in trying, but despite that, he's a genius when it comes to hunting and strategy. Of course, he doesn't think of himself that way because his self-esteem is shit, but it's true, so thank you, and you rock 3

I like you story very much and I agree with you. Dean is far from stupid and the way you describe him is exactly the way I saw him.

I too have always considered Dean as smart. I certainly could not make an EMF meter, or rebuild a car, or take apart weapons to clean then fix them back while holding a conversation. I also noticed at times Sam would throw out suggestions on what monster of the week could be and Dean would give reasons why that was wrong or right. I enjoyed this, thank you for sharing.

I loved the story, and I totally agree, Dean is NOT dumb. You can't be dumb and figure out how to make your own EMF, or salt bullets. I've been saying this for years and people just shrug like it's just a 'plot hole' that he can make stuff. I generally get a bit heated at that... Dean is not dumb. Thanks for the story!

The way you unraveled everything from the patents to Dean's reading Curious George was really well done and came across great. You have a really good handle on both of their characters. Bravo.
