Okay. Here is my guess. Five years ago Vala settled on a planet where her sister lived. There is no way that Vala would ever be considered short and the mother of a nine-year-old. So Nejaya is Vala's daughter and the other kids are her neices and nephews. Elom knows that there are secrets to be kept so he probably knows that Vala does not want to see them. Cool twist.
In your description/summary, shouldn't you say that this is an AU because you diverged from the SG1 story line after the setup for Dominion?

You have NO idea how long I have been waiting for the end of this story. I mean, I reread the WHOLE thing from beginning to end in the past 2-3 hours and my heart STILL clenches in the right parts. By far, this is one of my favorite stories in the Stargate fandom...in the fanfiction world...in the whole of eternity itself! I remember having stopped around chapter 5 or 6 last year and kept on my toes for so long...this was such a fantastic way to end it. I seriously praise you for your genius and bow to the greatness of your story. This story is staying with me forever and I hope you will share more masterpieces with us in the future. Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart for a wonderful story.

You can't help but think that Vala and Daniel had something to do with Uncle Cam and Teal'c picking flowers, just to amuse themseleves to see what would happen. It seems that Daniel and Vala have come to terms with their lost time and embraced their lives with their little romper. Cam's a sucker for little kids and Sam and Teal'c are just sitting back as well to see if Cam's going to be a May flower. hehehe Anywho, this as always was one of your best about loyalty and love. You spuna great adventure and long lasting love never fades. With Daniel and Vala, it's always complications with their relationship, and being apart of SG1, it's to be expected. But it's nice to see just sitting in the shade and watch your friends be eternal babysitters. hehehe :D

Excellent conclusion to the story! Liked the little background/time table you've given with Vala and Nejaya returning and being integrated into Daniel's life.

Nejaya seems to have nicely gotten the guys wrapped around her little finger. No doubt Daniel will have quite a time when she's older. ;)
