The reason you don't date your best friends sister is because if the two of you broke up your friend will always take the side of his sister if he takes your side then he is someone you should not consider a friend. Blood is thicker the water so if he sides with a friend then he's not loyal to anyone but himself. That's why you should never date your best friends sister. But in Harry's case you can tell he liked Ginny from the moment he met her in the first book so he liked Ginny before he was even friends with Ron or even met him

I really enjoyed this story about Harry and Ginny getting together earlier than in canon, and how Ginny was a source of comfort for Harry.

Oh god. I was hoping that the influence of his new friendships and nature would change how he approached the first task, but nope. It was almost exactly the same. What’s the point of changing the story if you don’t change how events play out? Is the only difference going to be his romance? Hope not.
