You did a great job of capturing Toushirou's nice side, and how he battles with himself, not wanting to be made fun of or looked down upon by the other moreexperienced Shinigami. You portrayed Matsumoto perfectly to. I'm glad I found this story in one of my favorite fanfic author's favorites, as it was delightful! I do hope you cotinue to write to this day. You have a natural talent for it.

I swear this notion never hit me until I read this fic, and another gen one featuring the two of them awhile ago, the realization hit me like DARN RIGHT, this two would make a hell of an eccentric gen friendship pairing, and the idea appealed to me in such an adorable way, that I know it will stick in my head for quite awhile ;)

Doesn't help that you wrote this beautifully . The prose flowed well, and you captured Toushirou in-character. (Can't ask for more, really.) Especially the dynamics between Matsumoto and her taichou - it's right on target, and you strike all the right chords there with those simple sentences that cut through to the point right home.

I mean... urh, (gawd, I'm rambling. Dammit.)

Well. In a nutshell. I loved this.
