awakened beings are full yoma; in some respects they are more yoma than normal yoma. if you need evidence, outside of the required human diet, look at their blood. The capability for offensive male awakened being able to regenerate their limbs perfectly (if slowly). the massive biological manipulation they all have to one degree or another.

PS: I believe you wrote this before the reveal but regular yoma are just infected humans.
