I agree with Constant Gardener; this was just beautiful and I love your style of writing. It broke my heart that you killed them, though, but you wrote it beautifully. More to the point, you wrote them beautifully.

Oh dear lord! I don't know whether I want to shriek with joy simply because you wrote this story so wonderfully or scold you for killing them both! You write with such a light hand, it very nearly brought a small sob to the edge of my lips (the sweetness of it, that is). You are wonderful and I'm begging you to write more. That was stunning, hurtful, and beautiful all in the same.
