I honestly see 2 issues with the premise.

The first is that the atkuski have long range specialists who would just set off all the Narutoclones away from their position or just get out of the area, you didn't mention Naruto having some time of instant transportation so I have to assume they could see this army coming for quite some time and plan accordingly.

The second is that their actually is a technique to make shadow clones explode. So while currently Naruto would need seals to seal rasengan shuriken into his clones he wouldn't need them for explosions which would save him prep time and supply cost for this plan.

This is an interesting concept and a very well written story.

Well the good/bad thing ,depending on your point of view, is that Deidara went out as he would have wanted and passed his "will of explosions" to a worthy successor. The bad thing to many ,not me, is that there is a worthy successor :P
