Joe Oudeis chapter 31 . 4/24 First of all to everyone who hasn't read the story yet: It isn't finished but it's a good read nevertheless. It may not be as well written as "Slave child" but if you've got a few hours, you should give it a go. And now stop reading this review because I will spoiler. I've got two main problems with this story: Firstly, Snape is changing way too quickly. Yes, Harry got tortured and while that may be a very frightening experience for him, Snape wasn't there. And if Harry's suffering would change anything, it should have done so after that night in the graveyard. But it didn't and so Snape should maybe be slightly less acerbic but he shouldn't rethink everything he ever assumed about Harry. Nor should Harry forgive so easily. While he is very forgiving, Snape has harassed him for years and if you think back to the one teacher you couldn't stand at school (and we all had at least one), you wouldn't be able to pardon that during a period of time that short. And Snape was much worse. My second problem is the lack of original ideas. This story is basically an arrangement of well-established situations and scenes. I'm not able to tell if those ideas were that commonly used in 2008, but they're now. Harry getting rescued by Snape? Check. Harry having a lot of problems and Snape comforting him? Check. Snape eventually adopting Harry as a Christmas present? Check. I think I wouldn't mind so much, were there more notable details or were those well-known scenes being approached in an unusual way. But the way it is written, you basically know everything that's going to happen after the first chapter. Ok, that all sounded not very complimenting, did it? Then let's get to the good parts: This story has a lot of well written fluff. As mentioned above, Harry has a lot of problems and Snape is somehow always around to comfort him. Someone in the review section said that they're too emotional for their age but while there are some scenes which seem Ooc, it's an AU and clearly labelled Hurt/Comfort, so that was to be expected. Secondly, this story somehow has a good flow. I'm not able to exactly name the reason but it seems be the right mixture of action and bonding time. The writing style certainly helps with that for it's just right in that story. The sentences don't seem to be off and seem to have the right length and the use of words is exactly right. All in all, the writing style is done precisely how it should be in a FanFiction, in a way that you don't notice it at all. Summary: While this story isn't perfect, it's a nice and easy read if you just want some fluff and don't want to wait ages for it. |
ISupportFanFicWriters chapter 30 . 4/11 I do not hink Severus was OOC, he cried for Lily when she died. |

Guest chapter 1 . 4/21/2019 *"His physical safety must be our top priority. People recover from emotional pain." Do they, Severus?* And my heart pained... |

Sharklist6285 chapter 12 . 1/24/2018 I have to say Severus seems a little OOC but frankly I couldn’t care less:D I love Harry getting affection from him too much |
becgate chapter 31 . 10/9/2017 Loved it! |
Phoenix900 chapter 31 . 4/25/2017 Write write write! Excellent piece of work! |
Guest chapter 25 . 1/16/2017 This chapter makes no sense. How did they sell the townhouse if they thought they had different names? How did they get passports and permits to move? How did they access their bank accounts? None of their credit cards would have been in their names. What about their jobs/business? |
Guest chapter 7 . 1/14/2017 You are distracting me from your own story. Half a dozen times, you've made a big deal about how nobody could contact Albus. Everyone else was contacted by Patronus, so it makes sense that Albus would have been contacted that way, too. |
Severus 2 chapter 31 . 9/19/2016 I was hoping to find out how things play out after the adoption Is there a sequel somewhere |
gothangelp3 chapter 31 . 6/22/2016 Please consider updating this story! I want to know how it ends and if Harry kicks Moldy-shorts' butt! I think this is also an excellent story along with your 'Slave Child' story! You are definitely a talented writer! _ |
