I love this sentence: *His inability to see her hadn't detracted from the experience in the slightest; it even put them, oddly, on the same level of inexperience and vulnerability.* It is so evocative of his feelings leading up to his second proposal. I love your writing.

Exquisitely written - this could've been excerpted directly from the novel itself. I enjoy that you explore the aspect of intimacy in their relationship, which the original, being written in Victorian times, did not touch upon. It did justice to both of their characters.
