Guest chapter 1 . 4/19/2019 good! |
PrincessMaylin chapter 13 . 6/9/2017 Hi! This was great! I absolutely love your writing style. It has just the right amount of detail. Not too much, not too little, and the characters are amazing with their emotions. You really captured them. Didn't you have more stories about Grindelwald? I thought I remembered reading one where he met Tom Riddle a few years ago. I was looking for that one but I couldn't find it. Did you delete it? |
Bubblesalltheway chapter 13 . 11/3/2016 so good! only thing I don't agree with is Doge and Albums relationship but I love this! |
The Dark One Rising chapter 13 . 11/19/2015 This deserves a sequel. It was a nice read. Well, "nice" might not be the right word. I was glad I read it, however. It is a shame that fanfuction does not have more stories dedicated to this time period. Really, the actuons here could change history. |
The Dark One Rising chapter 12 . 11/19/2015 Who even cast the curse? The damnable question. Poor Araiana. At least she may finally join her mother. Her father, I am unsure about he. He died in Azkaaban, but when? |
The Dark One Rising chapter 11 . 11/19/2015 This is over soon. The end of summer is near. How can it be nearly over? I suppose, given the nature of events, it would remain unresolved for a good thirty years. That liquid, I have to wonder. What is it? Does it affect the mind? Make someone so set on the object of their desire that they can do nothing but obtain it? Is that the reason for the fatal argument? |
The Dark One Rising chapter 10 . 11/19/2015 Ariana is the character that most fascinates me, despite the actual topic of the story. Of corse, that doesn't mean Albus, Aberforth or Gellert are boring. Rather, Ariana is the least explored of the four, I think. Seeing as we know so little of her, even less so than the other Dumbledores or Grindelwald, she is also one that authors are given the most artistic license for. Even Grindelwald has been seen more, through Voldemort's mind and the connection. |
The Dark One Rising chapter 9 . 11/19/2015 Out of all of this, Ariana is the largest victim. I often wonder what he psychological profile was, when she was involved. Just what did those Muggle boys do to her? Has she been rendered in a state of frozen development since the attack? If so, why is she mute? At about five, she should have been capable of speech. The entire Dumbledore family history is something of a mystery. |
The Dark One Rising chapter 8 . 11/19/2015 I can see why Grindelwald and Hitler got along. The AUs in which Grundelwald and Dumblesore stayed together are always very fun to explore. Some are more pleasant than others. Most often, "Lighter" put up this facade of being happy, lest the rulers take this displeasure as a sign of opposition. Muggles, of course, tend to end up far from happy. |
The Dark One Rising chapter 7 . 11/19/2015 Well, isn't that interesting. Knockturn Alley is a curious place. Were those two some sort of Seers or higher entities disguised in taht form? Were they merely drinking some sort of potion or casting some sort of spell to tell names and basic information? Odd people, those two. Quite correct as well. |
The Dark One Rising chapter 6 . 11/19/2015 I, at least, have been waiting for what was likely some romantic development. I have not been disappointed. Elphias Dodge. Does he regret anything? The world would be different had Dumbledore went on that trip before his mother died. If it happened even a month into the trip, Albus probably would not have started a relationship with Grindelwald upon his return. In the Wizarding World, were same sex relationships more accepted? I always have wondered. Roles seem about the same. A woman may be able to cast spells as well as a man, but there were still housewives like Molly Weasley. Of course, there were also women in power, with political offices, like Amelia Bones or Marchbanks. Some held law enforcement positions, like Tonks, but she may have been uncommon. Men had many positions of power. Still, thebFounders were evenly divided in gender. There had been female Ministers and Department Heads, as there were male counterparts. The Wizarding World can never be free of Muggle influence. To what extent the Muggles influence, I can't really say. What was Muggle clothing like, compared to the Wizardig version? Albus was uncomfortable in the Muggle clothing, so it had to be at least a bit different. How much so? What did it actually look like? |
The Dark One Rising chapter 5 . 11/19/2015 And, yet, Albus one day does posess all, at seperste times. The Cloak, when the Potters died. Why James handed it off is still something of a mystery to me. The Wand, taken from Grundelwald, upon his friend's defeat. The Stone, during the horcrux hunt, before Harry learned of them. Does that make Dumbledore a Master of Death? I do not prrsobally think so, since the items were not all held at the same time. If only for a short while, Harry had all three. The Cloak had been in his possession since Chrustmas of his firsts year. The Stone, gained from the Snitch Dumbledore willed to Harry, gained only "at the close". The Wand, held for a month or so after the defeat of Draco Malfoy, even if Harry was not made aware of it unil much later. |
The Dark One Rising chapter 4 . 11/19/2015 Trouble in paradise? Was it common for people to go on World Tours, back then? There is great irony of some of those statements. Apparently, the Magical World had not seen wars for some time. Grindelwald speaks of stopping Muggle violence. Yet, he is the propagator of the next large war. Voldmort was a child during a Wizarding and Muggle War, somewhat like Harry's parents and Harry's own generation. It is said that Riddle drew some inspiration from Grindelwald, who was defeated in or shortly after Riddle's last year at Hogwarts. Of corse, after that, Ridddle starts two wars (or one large war with a ten year break). In the century between Dimbledore's childhood and Harry's there had been two or three large scale Wizarding Wars. When had the last Wizarding War been waged? Had magicals been involved in other Muggle wars, as it was implied they were in WWII? It seems no coincidence that several wars start after Grundelwald's uprising, the apparent relative peace disrupted. Chances are, the Magicals had involved themselves, at least to some extent, in Muggle wars. So, why call them savages if Magicals fought in the same wars? |
The Dark One Rising chapter 3 . 11/19/2015 I have to wonder how muh of that was the truth. From what we know of Grindelwald, he could have easily faked a few details to gain sympathy. Did you change the ages of the siblings? Dumblesore just finished his Seventh Year, making him likely 17 or 18. Grindelwald was expelled in his sixth year, making him 16 or 17. I was under the impression that Ariana was younger than Aberforth. I had thought she was 14 when she died, and that Aberforth was set to enter his fifth year at Hogwarts. |
The Dark One Rising chapter 2 . 11/18/2015 That summer must have seemed like a dream, at first. Looking back, was it still a dream, or did it become a nightmare? Is Gribdelwald a pychopath or a sociopath? At times, he exhibits some traits. That wild intensity, the intensity, the charm, the manipulative actions, the insensitivity towards the wellbeing of others. |
