Their banter was perfect here and totally worthy of being canon. It's going into my own Spones head canon anyway. Loved it.

That was a very good first chapter! I feel really bad for Spock right now!*Sighs sadly*.And I so know what you mean! I've never liked SLASH! But I've gotten really into these two lately.I havn't seen the old movies in so long, I think I've forgotten what they're about. I'll hsve to buy them on DVD and of course search for Spock/McCoy !

Despite my disbelief in the fandom's slash scenery (meaning the display, but not the possibility in itself), I know that as a reviewer one must put aside such prejudices. So, occasionally I happen to visit the big slash area in search for good stories.

Yours certainly was no disappointment - quite the contrary. I actually read it twice, because I appreciated your feeling for right dosage so much: Every aspect was outlined enough to be understood, without being conveyed in an overly emotional way. This gives the reader space to develop own emotions. The verbal interaction between Spock and McCoy was amusing and touching, and McCoy's silent reasoning in his cabin came across as really endearing. Even Kirk's small performance had great impact.

Only the part about Joanna confused me a little. It was built up with rather great effort, but then it simply diffused to nowhere - this bothered me, although later on it is implied what her answer might have been.
