thetyrant67 chapter 45 . 7/10
Sharp is a man I deeply admire. He's not one who would stand by the sidelines and do nothing because of what the law says. A true man of action. If something endangers innocents, he will act.

Weir, on the other hand, pisses me off so much because she's acting in the best interests of the US and not the entirety of Earth unlike Sharp.
thetyrant67 chapter 42 . 7/10
I hope Weir dies a horrible death. Preferably by torture from goa'uld. She's the main character whose suffering I will gleefully celebrate.
thetyrant67 chapter 38 . 7/10
Carter is really fucking annoying with that bleeding heart of hers. Does she even remind herself that she's in a military outfit and not a friggin' charity? Always help first, ask later.

Sentiments matter less when you're in a galaxy surrounded by possible hostiles. Play nice when you have to but that doesn't mean you have to feed every extraterrestrial beggar you come across.

If it wasn't for O'Neill being suspicious, those three convicts would have turned her into their personal onahole given the chance.
thetyrant67 chapter 35 . 7/10
Carter keeps getting brainfucked, like a telepathic slut.
IamKroGan1 chapter 52 . 6/1
Good story, x-com killing goa'uld was always going to be fun. I didn't like that the IOA were still a thing, those guys were dicks. Sgc relied heavily on plot armour to protect then in canon, now they actually have some decent force in xcom.
IamKroGan1 chapter 13 . 5/28
Ba'al is easily the most competent Goa'uld in Stargate, and the best enemy throughout the whole show.
IamKroGan1 chapter 7 . 5/28
Breytenbach gets arm shot off, instead of passing out from pain he just seals the wound and switches to his pistol, badass.
Crazy9087 chapter 9 . 3/22
I find it interesting how you've put Loki as the boss of the sectoids. As I started with X-COM 2 I was originally expecting the Ethereals to be some super old race like the Ancients and the Wraith who rather than choose to ascend went into psionics and all of the bullshit you can use them for.
xanderken chapter 25 . 12/6/2019
that's one thing I never understood about the asgard. they rely on automation alot, they could have set up mines and ship yards in the milky way to produce equipment these would be safe from the reps and give the a fall back outpost and a small fleet to bluff the Goa'uld with.

And this keeps cutting off my old review, so I just want to point Hotpoint towards my full Snark of this mess a dot Literarytravesty dot wordpress dot com
CrazyMihn chapter 1 . 8/17/2019
(Cont)...kinda contradicts what they say about the tech in the first place: that it’s shit.

This is basically a HFY-fic; with XCOM as the overpowered gary stus. I would hope that Hotpoint would take the time to read my ongoing snark over at Library of the Dammed, where he might learn something about how awful this fic actually is. Maybe there might be some improvement in the future.
CrazyMihn chapter 5 . 8/17/2019
Y’know...I am so glad that I chose to MST this story.

This fic had so much potential. It could have been a great story.

But then X-COM essentially hijacks the Stargate program (which really can’t happen: The SGC is under the control of the US Airforce. X-COM is a multinational group funded by the UN. There’s no way that the two could conceivably merge with the way the command structure is set up. There’s also no fucking reason to in the context of this story). They solve dilemmas that the SGC took entire episodes to resolve in the blink of a eye, taking the limelight away from the main characters of SG1 at every opportunity. Hell, the story doesn’t even show the ‘other alien war’ for the most part; but chooses to make X-COM look superior to the SGC in every way.

The fic doesn’t even have a proper direction. The story starts off with the improbable concept of the SGC and X-COM merging into the amusingly titled XSGCOM (which-being a acronym- stands for eXtraterrestrial StarGate COMbat, which makes no goddam sense- are they fighting aliens, or alien Stargates?)...and basically becomes the “Chronicles of a hot Russian X-COM operative in the Stargate Universe”.

I mean, this fic seems to take abject joy in ripping into the Stargate canon, and mercilessly dissecting it. Martin Lloyd? Implied yo be tortured by X-COM in violation of the Geneva convention. In the canon, he’s a fantastic character: a underdog nerd who’s actually a alien. Now, how can the events of “Wormhole Xtreme” happen if he was tortured?

Then there’s all the Goa’uld technology: XCOM calls it shitty tech, but then goes on to use it anyway...which is purely contradictory. They essentially skip all the development the human race went through technologically and philosophically to go from a race only able to access one Stargate...to the “Fifth Race”, and the successors of the Asgard. Oh no, because X-COM are such massive Gary Stus, they automatically leapfrog their way to the top without truely maturing as a species first. It’s all about X-COM being the best...it get’s repetitive to read about them doing everthimg perfectly.

If anyone’s interested in reading my snark, go to Library of the Dammed on Wordpress. I hope Hotpoint takes the time to read my snark, and realise that he gets so close to a goodfic...before making it all anout “XCOM Fuck Yeah!”
VR Commando ATA chapter 30 . 7/21/2019
Elerium isn't just expensive, it's also rare. Great story by the way, still wondering if Vahlen, Shen, Bradford, and THE Commander will show up at some point.
Splawheel chapter 52 . 6/27/2019
One of the best HFY! stories out there. Especially because you finished it. I didn't think these two franchises would mesh well, but with your pen they do. And improve upon SG1 canon. Thank you for posting such an incredible story. Now to read the sequel.
