I love this story. It was pretty gut wrenching for a while. But you resolved things so well. You kept the characters voices so clear through the story. I read this a few years ago and didn't write a review at the time. I've recently rediscovered Enterprise fanfic and my love for Trip and T'Pol and found your story again. Thanks. I've off to start rereading Briar Patch now.

Believe it or not, this was the first fanfic I ever read. I discovered it a few months ago and stayed up until 3:00 in the morning to finish it. I am totally hooked now. Just re-read this and enjoyed it as much the second time.

I agree with one reviewer that T'Pol trying to make Trip see a relationship between her and Archer to be a little jarring and it struck me as soapy. As as a little nitpick, I would think even secret weddings would have at least one witness (particularly Soval). That said, you got a gift for writing page-turners and I kept reading this when I was supposed to be studying for midterms.

Ever since I read Pride and Prejudice in high school, I saw Trip as a male version of Lizzy Bennet and his confrontation with Kiran and T'Lan confirmed that for me. It reminds me of Lady Catherine's visit to Longbourn and like Miss Bennet, Trip knows how to hold his own. And come to think of it, T'Pol taking the time out to contact the Tuckers is much like how Mr Darcy helps Lydia and Wickham marry. It's the same motivation to do what's right for a loved one even though they believe there's no chance of reconciliation. I think you have Austen's gift of observation and it shows up in how you write these characters, which is better than some episodes of the show. One highlight was Phlox's imagery of T/T as mirror images in chapter 3, which is completely accurate.

Extremely well-written. You've given the characters a richness and depth that could never be shown onscreen. Trip's continuing struggle from 'The Slough of Despond', his clinical depression, is brilliantly conveyed.

I hope you write much, much more for 'Enterprise'.

Just spent the day reading this...it was a great read, loved to see the vulnerable trip, and seeing how you portrayed the realistic emotional effects of violence...I was pleased t'pol and trip reunited and was overjoyed to see a sequel begun...and recently updated...thank you for sharing this :-)

Congratulations! You've made me hate the characters of this show so thoroughly, it's not funny. Trip's a pathetic bitch, Archer's a bigger, more annoying f*ckwit than he was on the show and Phlox thinks he's a psychiatrist and a medical doctor. Good job!

superb story

I haven't watched Enterprise or read any fic, including T/T stories, in quite some time, but last week I had this random urge to watch a bunch of T/T scenes...which naturally ignited my nostalgia for T/T fic. I did a brief search, started and quickly stopped a few stories that I deemed inadequate for one reason or another...

...And then I found this one. From the first paragraph, I knew this story would be brilliant and was exactly what I was looking for, and it did not disappoint. I've been staying up way later than I should be these last few days so that I could read "just one more chapter" (HA! more like 3...), and this story has just been on my mind when I haven't been able to read more. It is exceptionally written, resplendent in detail (without being subjected to obsessive description that destroys the narrative illusion, as some authors are wont to do), poignantly heart-wrenching and hopeful at the same time, and just all and all a terrific story. I'm sad to see it come to an end, but I was happy to see that you've been writing a sequel - although unfinished, I noticed that the latest chapter updated only a few months ago, so I hope that you are continuing with these versions of the characters that I have come to truly love.

Once again, a fantastic story, and thank you so much for sharing this with us.
