Rookblonkorules chapter 13 . 2/6/2019
Oh goodness, Lalaithien... I just love him even more now. Poor kid. He's had a rough time of it, losing his brother and sister like that. And No! Galen's fate has left me horrified. I absolutely loved him too. Let's hope they get Haldir out of there soon.
Rookblonkorules chapter 12 . 2/2/2019
I think I forgot to review the last few chapters. Whoops. That's how drawn into this I was. I'm so upset by Angrad's betrayal. I think he was my favorite, next to Lalaithien, out of all the supporting characters. *hugs Lalaithien tightly* Don't you dare hurt my precious boy. *wide eyes* Please?
Some of the scenes with Haldir and the Nazgul did seem a little rushed and one suggestion would be line breaks so we know where one scene ends and another begins. However, your grammar remains impeccable and your plot is incredibly interesting.
Good work!
Rookblonkorules chapter 8 . 2/1/2019
Your elvish characters are all brilliant, particularly Lalaithien.

I was bitterly disappointed to see the escape going as well as it did. But I suppose it's no surprise. Less fun for us if they get away too soon and all.
I'm dreadfully worried about Haldir and the little girl, Henna (another brilliant character, btw) though.
Rookblonkorules chapter 6 . 2/1/2019
I'm really interested in the character of Veil and... I'm quite disgusted with Torunal right now. Please, please Haldir don't do anything stupid.
Rookblonkorules chapter 5 . 2/1/2019
Oh goodness. This chapter! Haldir is... this is not looking good. Really hoping Aragorn and the rangers get to him soon. Your descriptive language never fails to please, however!
Rookblonkorules chapter 4 . 1/31/2019
This chapter was so... chilling. The first appearance of the Ringwraith is so perfectly done. You've captured the unearthly evil perfectly.
And Galen... poor soul. Get him bundled up back to his father where he can recover. He may not feel like it, but his courage certainly seemed to have held up admirably.
Rookblonkorules chapter 3 . 1/31/2019
I'm very curious about the hint you've dropped about Haldir's backstory here. Is that from The Cost of Blood? It's the story I'm planning to hit after I've finished this one.
I like the way you wrote the orc- and how you made a point to bring up that they were convinced that the elves were crueler than they are. Also, I love how Haldir did attempt to show mercy to the orc captive. I did honestly think that it was going to take the chance and run, but it made sense the way it went.
Also, can I just say that I really appreciate your grammar? So few actually take the time to worry about grammar on this site and it's refreshing to find a well-plotted, well-written fic with good grammar.
Rookblonkorules chapter 2 . 1/31/2019
Ooh boy, was this an exciting chapter! You definitely had me believing that the lurkers were sinister in their intent, but it was a relief to see that they were not.
When Haldir and Halbarad clashed, I was pretty sure it was a ranger. Poor Haldir. I love how you worked that situation so brilliantly. Haldir was absolutely justified in going after who he thought was an intruder, and yet Halbarad also wasn't doing anything wrong (although it would definitely seem suspicious to someone not from Imladris.)
Also, this presence that they sensed... it's so eerie. I'm guessing this is leading up to the Nazgul.
Can't wait to read the next chapter.
Rookblonkorules chapter 1 . 1/31/2019
This is such a great opening! So intriguing! Your writing style is also quite refreshing. I love the details that you put into this as well as your description of Imladris and the residents within. I particularly like your characterizations of Elladan and Elrohir. I absolutely adore those two. And Haldir! I love the idea that he would have participated in the search for Celebrian after her abduction. This is a wonderful start!
Amara Selraei chapter 1 . 5/3/2017
This was by far my favorite of your stories! I have read all of stories so far and I can't wait to read your next one. I really hope that you will publish the next story soon, because I am absolutely hooked on the series!
circumstancesRirrelevant15 chapter 16 . 5/7/2015
Loved this! It's an amazing story and you're a wonderful writer!
Mari83 chapter 16 . 1/14/2014
Thanks for the story!
Killingmemory chapter 16 . 1/16/2010
Just perfect. Truly. I was so sad to finish this, but perhaps now I can finally get some actual work done for the first time in the last few days. Thank you so much writing such a wonderful story. Favorited.
veree chapter 16 . 9/16/2008
My first review! Ever!

I think the most striking element to this story is how you've handled Haldir's post-traumatic stress. A brilliant and realistic way to portray it. A family member of mine works directly with war veterans, and sadly, he's seen some very similar stuff-very apparent to me when Haldir cuts the brand out of his arm. I find that part hard to read-very emotional.

My only critique, as such, would be to watch your commas and such. Every now and then a sentence gets a little hard to follow, grammatically, and a comma or semicolon is kinda needed.

Much love! Can't wait til you update Invictus!
Ponytail Goddess chapter 16 . 8/30/2008
Wow, I finally finished this. I had hoped it wouldn't be so bittersweet, but once Haldir stabbed Aragorn, I knew it wasn't going to end well. It will take Haldir a long time to get over this, if in fact he ever does. Some of the wounds from this won't heal and I feel bad that Aragorn is trying so hard when Haldir has shut himself off. I imagine it will be better for him in Lorien though, where the Lord and Lady will probably get on him if he continues his drinking behaviors. I'm very interested to see how he will act in your next story because of how he is now and how much time will have passed between his last meeting with Aragorn.

Anyways, excellent writing. I look forward to reading the next story in your series.
