Dang, this was super well done. I love the way you write the characters and their interactions! The interlude with Roy was touching, and really makes me feel both like Ed was mourned deeply, but also that, well, four years have passed. Time keeps marching on for everyone.

About your dilemma from the AN at the end of the first chapter: yes, I definitely agree that Al calling Ed "brother" all the time doesn't quite work (it'd be even more cringy and odd in my native language Polish), yet a sudden Japanese word in a text in English may sound strange too... a little amateurish, I guess.
People on the West usually just don't give titles to their older siblings like they would to parents, grandparents and other elders. So I think it should just be translated to "Ed" because it sounds just as natural in English as 兄さん in Japanese.

This... is the first story I loved on Harry Potter fandom. As the books have a very important meaning for me, I don't like to read stories about them. But on the Fullmetal Alchemist Fandom, I'm a newbie... and when I discovered your fanfiction, I just had to go for it. Because with it there was the possibility of Ed keeping his alchemy, getting a new talent in the same time, and although he's been send in another world, Al is still with him (and who would be able to resist to a 4 years old Al ?). Add to this that he become DADA professor in Hogwart and that he's like a genius even if he didn't know anything about magic before going through the Gate (pretty sure Izumi Curtis would laugh herself to death if she actually knew that Edward's now a teacher, she would be like now, you'll understand my suffering) and you've made a story that I can't just wait to see the next update. Also, I loved your idea of an Achemy for the people day, as a memorial to the Elric brothers... Mustang being the one behind it just make me more happy ! So yeah, you've done quite a job here, thank you so much for it and please don't let it stop here, I want to know what happen next (and I need more brotherly love...). 'til your next chapter, and thank you again for this story ! (any mistakes are due to my lack of attention during my English classes, as it's not my native language, sorry about them)

So, Alphonse is basically his, assuming Edward is seventeen and not twenty, normal 16 year old self in a four year old's body? Oh, and loving this story so far!
