James Birdsong chapter 1 . 7/22/2009 Hooray. Good. |
A Shining Armour chapter 1 . 7/3/2007 You have no idea how wonderful it is to find a Castlevania 64 fic. And it only gets better, when they're as well written as this one. :) No seriously... I've played the majority of the Castlevania games, but Legacy of Darkness (which is just like a special edition CV:64) has to be my favourite, along with Lament of Innocence. Ooh, and CV:Bloodlines for the good ole Genesis, which got me hooked in the first place. Anyways, back on topic, heh. I really like this piece, and you know what else I loved? That *Carrie* is the main focus! She's easily one of the most awesome female leads in any Castlevania game. I think you really capture her heartache with the symbolism of the whole piece... I really, really liked it. Even the length was nice; it was poetic, but it still got to the point. One piece of constructive critism I can give you, is that maybe you could work on your symantex a bit more. Like, the types of sentences and such. I mean, you had a tendancy to usse these long, flowing sort of sentences a lot... to bring a jolt of emotion, a great thing to do is to interupt that flow with a short, breif sentence, or even a fragment. I know this was meant to be sort of reflective, drabble-esque piece, but remember, you can still wind up your characters emotions in... tensity, if that's a word, LOL. But honestly, that's not a big deal. I enjoyed this itty bitty ficlet. xD Your descriptions were really nicely done, and I have to say, keep up the good work! This one's going to my favs. :) ~Lucky |
