Oh, it's perfect. I'm binge-reading all your LotR fic right now and adoring it, but I just had to comment on this one. I love the unique OC perspective – on Faramir's loss especially, love how you've given us a glimpse into the life of the ordinary citizens of Middle-earth, love the idea of the King and the Prince traveling incognito to see it. Very touching.

So the older one was Aragorn, or was it Faramir

Wow. Completely in character, v. funny. Which prince is the younger one, though? Or does Aragorn only have one son?

I am trying so hard to imagine a merchant in a barn. I would love to sleep in a barn but I have actually never seen one.

Great story, Altariel! I usually prefer long stories, but there is something about a really good oneshot that no multi-chapter tale can quite capture. Eilen is a wonderful character, just the sort I love to run into.

I would have liked a brief glimpse into how Aragorn and Faramir saw this... but the doesn't really need it to be excellent.

I've been going through all your stories and I love all of them- how well you develop the characters, the irony (I LOVE the humor in this story), the relationships...

This was a very touching, very sweet story! It was interesting to see Aragorn and Faramir from the POV of one of their more ordinary subjects. This story also told us something of how the major events in life affect not only the great but the small. I very much liked your OC of Eilen, and I liked reading this story. Loved this story! It paints such a charming picture of the post-war relationship between Aragorn and Faramir. I like to think that these two fictional characters would have become good friends, and that Aragorn might have treated Faramir like a mixture of a younger brother and a grown son. Thank you so much for writing.
