anemix chapter 15 . 6/16/2010
Very well written, though you really put the Doctor in a lot of pain. The Doctor Who series is more about hope than an endless beat-down of the characters, which could explain why there is such little 'whump' fanfiction in this category. I also had a bit of trouble following all that was going on. It could just be me and my ignorance, but a lot of Doctor Who fanfics are sort of confusing to follow for me.

Lutricity chapter 15 . 2/20/2010
You. Made. Me. Ruddy. Panic. P.A.N.I.C. ! I give your story a gold award because it got though to my heart, and had me reading faster then I thought possible to get to them being safe, I didn't think you pre-ended it on the right note. But the epiloge helped, can I go punch Salliery in the face? And then use torture methods to horrible to write down on him? (Yes, your story isso brilliant it did that to a pacifist.) For that, itruely commend you, for you are an excellent writer. Btw, it was Satellight 5, not 9.
The Buzz chapter 15 . 12/25/2009
I absolutely LOVED this- after each chapter I meant to stop reading and go to bed, but I never quite managed to do so (until I reached the end of course). Great plot, wonderful characterization, solid writing, and Doctor whump to boot. Fantastic!

At first I didn't know what Rose had figured out, but I read it over again. And it hit me! *screams* NO Doctor! Ahh! Good story!
T'Kirr chapter 15 . 2/1/2009
My, this fiction is a treat! I started out wary... I didn't like where it was going, with the Doctor losing his lives. Your in-depth description of how the Doctor's inner energy works is really quite fascinating, and makes perfect sense. I got chills when Rose suddenly found Michelle speaking French, knowing full well what had happened. Your implementation of it, combined with the reasoning behind Time Lord fever, works well!

You've sucked me in with Rose's pain, and it's as if I could actually hear the Doctor's screams in my head (knowing what it must be like thanks to Human Nature helps, someone deafen me!). You made it so real and terrifying. I felt so much loss for them, so forlorn... like there's no going back, no hope. Bravo! I must say I figured out reversing the condition from the piranha gun's stored energy before I read of Rose's genius moment, but having Rose be the one to come up with the idea was worth the wait!

Neat spot for the Bad Wolf to surface, too. I like how the Doctor speaks to Rose about his link with the TARDIS, too. It makes him seem so old, so... mysterious, which is taken for granted except in moments like this. Throughout the story, like when the Doctor's attempting to get at the generator, you're constantly describing the Doctor's fight against his weakness, which I think is especially necessary to show the magnitude of how dire his situation is and how desperate he is to overcome it.

Rose channels the Doctor's regeneration energy... how clever. Personifying it is also intriguing. Rose stopped time... and the Doctor was aware of it. You keep throwing new ideas in at the end, such a contrast from the slower start, and instead of making it overwhelming, it's one wild ride!
Veldeia chapter 15 . 1/30/2009
Having just found the wonder that's Doctor Who (and watched the first two seasons in a ridiculously short amount of time) I went looking for some nice hurt/comfort fic, and this was exactly the sort of story I was looking for. A few typos in there (like the "save" in the second-last sentence), but nothing bad. Cool story. Yay. :)
Spoofmaster chapter 15 . 12/1/2008
I quite liked this (though I always feel a bit guilty for being into stories that lay so much abuse on the characters). Once I started, I had to keep going until I got through the entire story, first because of the mystery of the lavender and the Doctor's illness (and I really liked the scene in which Salliery sussed the Doctor out), and then to see how you were going to get the Doctor back out of this situation. There were actually a few points at which I was convinced that you had just gone ahead and killed Ten, or even killed the Doctor entirely.

The spelling and punctuation could use a little work in parts (there are a lot of missing or misplaced quotation marks - though for all I know, that's one of those uploading glitches that hits us all), but the plot and character representation are strong. I'm going to go ahead and add this to my C2, the Tin Dog.

Loved the story! Poor Rose and the Doctor, you really know how to put them through hell. ;)
