Wraith Kone chapter 8 . 4/14 To be honest, I fell in love with the Lelouch/Euphemia ship the moment I saw it, and this fic really made me examine why I hold such an attachment to this ship. I think it’s because first loves feel so much purer in comparison to other forms of romantic attachment (to me at least). Given the darkness that surrounds Lelouch, seeing him hold such a pure attachment is such a beautiful contrast to his otherwise cynical, jaded self. The way it was portrayed, Euphemia was basically Lelouch’s innocence. It’s telling that the moment she dies was when Lelouch truly starts to break. I honestly think it was a good thing for him (mentally) to have been captured at the end of the first season. Otherwise, I feel that Lelouch would have just continued to break until he shatters completely. Seriously, it felt like Lelouch at the end of the first season was teetering at the edge of madness. This is a lovely piece of work. |
Trix chapter 7 . 4/9 What is Maranne gonna do? |
Coment9 chapter 1 . 4/7 Interesting. |
Guest chapter 7 . 4/5 Oh. Wow. Poor Euphie. We get a glimpse of what she would have went through if she survived. But, I have this sense that Marianne is about to do something. Chews fingernails. Off to read the side story! Post epilogue soon? |
Xlerons chapter 1 . 4/4 Long time no see, it's good to have you back. |

Tomcat chapter 2 . 2/17 I really like how you portray the relationships among the emperor’s wives. Also, Euphemia is really cute. You did a good job of fleshing out our favorite characters as young children - true to their personalities as they get older. Thanks for writing this! |
Reason452 chapter 1 . 2/15 I didn’t watch R2, either. This is unique. |

Clarence Plasma chapter 6 . 2/11 I never expected to see this updated again, I remember reading it years and years ago. It’s a sublime surprise. |
Mr. Page chapter 5 . 6/17/2019 Wonderful job on the emotions. I really feel Marianne’s affection and the sadness in her voice. Though I’m confused. How did she try to separate Euphie and Suzaku? Well . . . it looks like this is where the fanfic stops. Whether or not you ever write another chapter, I want to thank you for writing this fanfic and getting this far. It was wonderful to read these moments between Lelouch and Euphie as they discovered what it means and feels like to love each other. As I said before, you never forget your first love. |
Mr. Page chapter 4 . 6/16/2019 Such a heartwarming chapter. After seeing him talk to her so harshly in the early chapters, to now see him laugh with her, worry for her, adore her. . . . I could feel the love Lelouch and Euphie felt as I read their dialogue. And the passion and worry in Marianne's voice as she watched two children she cared about fall in love. It made you worry and hope with her. "The only time the rest of us see your true heart, Lelouch. . . Is when you're with Euphemia." That line really wrapped up the chapter nicely. I love this story so far. It's a story of young love, of first love, of love that's untainted by things like greed or status or condition. Thank you so much for writing it. |
Mr. Page chapter 3 . 6/16/2019 I am very taken in by your story. It has such beautiful description. Hearing it narrated by Marianne offers us a glimpse into her life before her assassination, at a simpler time when everything was much more endearing. It makes me wonder how she and Charles would have turned out if V.V. hadn't interfered. The way you write Marianne's narration, along with her and her children's dialogue, is very good. I can feel the warmth flowing through her heart, at how much she cares about Lelouch and Euphie. I love Lelouch's and Euphie's relationship. Though they were children and siblings, they were each other's first love, and you never forget your first love. |
