Reviews for Protective Instincts
Fictionalfox chapter 1 . 9/14
I agree with you completely. However, do tell me about SCAA, because I only found information about specialty coffee on the Internet.
Emslionpride chapter 1 . 4/8/2019
What did I think? I thought that it was rather cute, how Mikey got all protective of Klunk. But it was also very nice reading about Casey being so supportive of Mikey while also helping him realize that getting Klunk neutered is the best thing to do for him.

Also there are some places where cars and dogs aren't the only threats to outdoor cats. Where I live my cats could easily get grabbed by a hawk and eaten. That's why they are never going outside.
Rufu chapter 1 . 3/12/2019
I agree. See a lot of starving and dead puppies on the road...unacceptable and preventable. Though I think Donnie could figure out cat surgery when he does it to his own brothers.
Samiam2468 chapter 1 . 1/24/2019
I want to see his brothers reaction to Mikey’s fear for himself.
dontgiveahoot chapter 1 . 11/13/2018
This is really great. I loved how Mikey was both partly right and partly wrong, and it was all mixed up in how he felt about something that had happened to him in canon. Spaying and neutering are very important, and it's true that they can't just take Klunk to a vet any more than they themselves can go see a doctor. That sort of self-reliance for solving health problems is ingrained into them by necessity, and I can see why the other four all assumed that getting Don to research and perform the surgery was the only option. But at the same time, no matter how clever Don is, trying to wing it with a book is irresponsible. There's a reason vets train for years, and Don himself admits he's no doctor.

One thing that surprised me that nobody brought up is that if Klunk isn't neutered, he may well end up fathering kittens that are left to survive on the streets of NYC, just as Klunk himself was. Being reminded of the reason Klunk is his cat to start with - he found the poor little thing abandoned and shivering in a pile of snow - may have struck a chord with Mikey. I would have expected Casey to bring that up, considering he adopted his cat from a shelter.
Astrangepie chapter 1 . 6/30/2016
Cool and strange ( because the part of - donni have a book - me: wut, no it can't be, really? * continue reading* omg , it's... )

NixKat chapter 1 . 1/26/2013
Nice. Casey's really good and I like that you wrote about some of the after effects of being held by an invasive test happy government agent could have on a teenager.
Nim Draug chapter 1 . 8/22/2012
I like Casey being the voice of reason, it doesn't actually seem out of character for him. Very well written. I've had 5 dogs and no cats but it's stories like this that make me wonder whether it would be worth getting one of my own when I got my own place.
