hengrimm chapter 13 . 6/2/2019 What a freaking, amazing ride! Wonderful, wonderful story with Nick and Warrick friendship, lots of Brass (and even Vega), humor, tension, a case, Catherine at her best, and great all around writing that encompasses everything from POV to deep character thoughts to even the use of all caps during the thoughts. A perfect amount of detail and description, and dialogue so in-tuned to the series that I could hear the characters saying the words. Just an incredibly awesome story that I enjoyed so much. While the Spanish was essential to the story - and added so much depth and believability to it - my only complaint was I don't speak Spanish (and remember very little from Middle School) so I had to translate it online. As I can't copy within the story, I had to settle for a word or two rather than full sentences, and I'm quite certain that several words were lost in translation - one refused to give me Spanish, giving me Finnish instead and a couple others, based on the context and what was going on during the story at the time, I'm certain gave me the wrong word. So it was a pain in the ass. But it can't detract in any way, shape, or form from the brilliance of this story. Thank you so much for sharing! I wish you two would've collaborated on more stories; you two together are truly amazing, gifted storytellers. Thanks again! |
beege chapter 13 . 5/10/2013 I still come back to this story when I'm getting nostalgic about CSI's glory days, because it does so much so well. Nick and Warrick's friendship, the fallout from Brass's accidental shooting and the dynamic of the whole team. In many ways it's better than an episode of the show (the Brass perspective is particularly good) and deals with certain things better than the show ever did. |
Janissa11 chapter 13 . 7/24/2009 Aw man, this has everything: Great casework, the legendary Nick-Warrick friendship, Jim kicking ass and taking names, and tons of Nick!owwies. RIVETING. Thank you! |
Hikaru Kosuzaku chapter 13 . 3/1/2009 Holy crap. Holy freakin' crap. You're amazing. But did it have to be papusas? Those are good. Any good Texan knows that. Anywho, I loved this fic, it had me sittin' on the edge of my seat. Thanks. |
Xmiax chapter 13 . 8/25/2008 What a great story, an extremely enjoyable read all the way through! I was totally blown away by your inventive and lively language, it made the whole story a million times better than the usual thirteen-in-a-dozen fic. And man, what a plot... I was hooked from chapter one :) Keeping the story in the present tense was also a nice change and contributed to making it such a triller. I have to say that your story was the best I've come across in the CSI-fandom! Keep up the good work, I'm going to check out your other stories right now :) XO, Xmiax |
krage chapter 13 . 7/27/2008 Brilliant story, it was a really interesting read with a great plot line. |
krage chapter 1 . 7/26/2008 seems a really interesting story so far, a lot of drama just in the first chapter. I'll read the rest as soon as i get the time. |
stokesgirl chapter 13 . 6/12/2008 Wow, I mean wow! This was really a fantastic story. It had everything, friendship, action, kept you at the edge of you seat, humor, drama, sadness, happiness. One of my favorite things about CSI has been Nick and Warrick's friendship and now with Warrick shot and possibly dead, makes this story that much more poignant. You two really captured this friendship, this brotherhood, that Nick and Warrick have always had. Nick made me laugh a few times in this story. I can just see the two of them high and Nick acting like a goof. You all really put Nick through the ringer in this story, but I'm glad he's going to be ok. It was nice that the ending had only the three of them. It was fitting. What can I say, this story was AWESOME! |
Maz101 chapter 13 . 7/31/2007 Thanks for this - loved the action and the boys' dynamic. Apart from the general level of hurt/torture the thing I really enjoyed was Brass's role and his interaction with the team & the other detectives. He's a great character often overlooked. I love your technique of running words together - when I think about it, at times of anxiety/pain/desperation that is just what we all do isn't it. It always works when you use it. If I ever get round to writing ANYthing myself I don't know how I'll get that out of my head. |
iboneki chapter 13 . 7/29/2007 Oh. Lord. LADIES. Hold on. Must collect myself. What a way to go out. This is 'Abbey Road' before the Beatles ditched us all. Saving the best for last. This story is effing amazing. It's been an enjoyable last 2-ish hours reading it all straight through. The first half or so again, the last chapters for the first time. Slowly. Savoring. SPEECHLESS. You two have contributed such great things to this fandom and we all seem to be ditching it at once. But this is the kind of thing that will never get old sitting in my fave stories. For me, at least, the barometer of greatness is how much something can make me both laugh and cry. And this I did plenty of both. Please be immensely proud of yourselves for this story. This is pretty much how I felt after "Tabula Rasa" and "The Stars at Night" except now they're, like, TOGETHER. DOUBLE THE GUH. Nevermind. You guys will probably just give me a patronizing virtual pat on the head and say "whatev." Goofs. Loved this, love you all. |
lawslave chapter 13 . 7/24/2007 Congratulations on writing one of the best stories to hit this site in a long time! Every character was perfect and if I didn't know better, I'd think your original characters were part of the show too; they just fit so well. Does that make sense? I cringed with every punch poor Nick received and laughed out loud with the many one-liners you inserted for some much needed comic relief. But I got to say none were better than the ones provided by Ginny and Brass in the last chapter. You couldn't have ended the chapter better than you did; it actually brought a lump to my throat. I'm crossing my fingers this will not be the last work of art we see from you ladies, either solo or in cahoots. I love these characters, but unfortunately its getting harder to find a great story like yours. |
NicknHotchfan chapter 13 . 7/22/2007 Thank you for saving Nick. Jim save Nicky and he will not let anybody touch him. I hope you guys write again soon. I'm enjoy your story. |
Mma63 chapter 13 . 7/22/2007 First, taking a look at the reviews I missed some of mine owns. Where are they? What can I say about this strong and amazing friendship journey that I haven't commented before? Can you girls imagine how powerful your writing become? Do you know what a mix of feelings and emotions your story was able to provide to us readers? You both are very special for me and it's sad to know the story reached its end because unfortunately it means I won't read from you for who knows how long...Thank you for sharing this GREAT STORY! |
Capt. Cow chapter 13 . 7/21/2007 Ok, so...the trophy's in the mail...Awesome last chapter. I loved this story! The Nick and Warrick intereaction was so well written, and Brass was marvellous too! Sigh, now I have no updates to look forward too! |
wraiths-angel chapter 13 . 7/21/2007 This was a great stoery and i enjoyed it form start to finish. I am sure one day Nick will be able to save them all instead of the other way around lol, I hope you both do some more stories! |
