Peridot Lion chapter 9 . 11/18/2007 Fantastic! I've been waiting so long for the next chapter and it really lived up to my expectations. I love the mystery you're cultivating in the story. It makes it twice as exciting and addictive. Keep up the good work! |
klainelynch chapter 9 . 11/18/2007 Great chapter, I really liked it. So sad what happened to Katara, but she was very IC. |
Uru Baen chapter 9 . 11/17/2007 Wow. I love it; and I promise you, I'm working on mine as well. |
LoveroftheFlame chapter 9 . 11/17/2007 Nice! I laughed at "poor" Tetsuo hunting for the elusive teashop of fame only to find himself innundated with them. Katara truly suffered as well. The horrors she must have undergone are striking. Death was a mercy. Looks like Zuko is racking up the kids... Love pregnant and irritable Toph. Fits her perfectly. The last scene with Tetsuo was well done. Vivid descriptions and a very cliffhanging end. Surely if he has found Iroh he would be recognized. I look forward to the next chapter! |
LoveroftheFlame chapter 8 . 11/15/2007 Very good. Dark and enthralling. I wonder if Tetsuo can be redeemed like his uncle (father?). I feel for Azula though. She is damaged. Wow, so much more to like in this story. I look forward to more. |
Uru Baen chapter 8 . 11/10/2007 Just the work we know and love from you- showing the misery from all perspectives, and a balloon is jealous of how round your characters are. |
reddragonn343 chapter 8 . 11/9/2007 damn...great stuff in this chapter. good job. i like the ending. |
YFate chapter 8 . 11/9/2007 Wow. Talk about introducing plot twists! I like how you touched on Azula's background and how being raped as a child by her father could twist her into what she now is. Poor baby. Makes me want to hug her - but from a distance. I wouldn't trust that b* any closer than say - two imaginary universe away. ;o) I have never felt that having something evil done to you can justify doing something evil to others. Personal opinion. But it opens a wealth of possibility in explaining why somebody is the way they are. Twisted because you've been twisted. I do wonder why Azula tossed Katara, Ty Lee, possibly Mai (lost her child? and thus oculd nurse Tetsuo?) in there with a rabid Zuko (sexy leer), knowing they would end up pregnant, and is now intent on killing off his bastards. Change of mind? Thought the host of babes was some type of insurance back in the day and now regrets her earlier decision? I'm still wondering if Tetsuo is Zuko's. Probably; though I wonder if Azula would want to suffer under her brother long enough to produce an heir - wouldn't it remind her too much of her father's forceful attentions? Would she want a son like her despised Zuko and hated father? Or does she really think that she is the epitome of what a pure royal fire-bloodline could be and decides that she could weed out the weaker faults of the bloodline in the raising of her heir? Makes me think and more eager to find out. I also like how you touched on Sokka and Ty Lee's views. I'm sad for Ty Lee. I would hope that she would take more happiness in her children being happy - even though fear does eat at her. That fear will draw Azula like a wolf on the scent. Horrid thought. My favorite part was Zuko, though, and his simple communion with the flame. What a sweet little scene in the midst of so much darkness. (I have a yen for sweet sappy hero-conquers-all stories. LOL. It's like a sugar addiction.) Then again, how can there be light without darkness? And you write the emotions and shadows out with a beautiful grace that lends great feeling to the scene. Makes it live in my head and THINK afterwards. The best compliment I can give is to demand more, much more. ) Fate |
Luiz4200 chapter 8 . 11/9/2007 The blind man is certainly Zuko, right? Will he recover his memories and meet his children? |
klainelynch chapter 8 . 11/8/2007 Really great chapter, I love everyone's backgrounds (they're all really sad, but you know what I mean. They're interesting) |
YFate chapter 7 . 11/5/2007 Another chapter eagerly consumed. Love the foreshadowing and boiled leaf juice. I wonder if Zuko is Tetsuo's father? Might be twisted enough for Azula to contemplate. It makes me truly sad, though, that Zuko will never know rest or peace. (Or that's what I got from Meng's prophesy.) I hope Tetsuo and Sokka/Suki's daughter (forgot her name, need more coffee) will find it with each other, maybe redeem the pain in the past. Poor Aunt Wu. Meow. Haha. And my own cat has that offended-empress look on her face right now. I think they never forget that they were once worshipped as gods in Egypt-and miss it as their just due. LOL! Can't wait for more, Fate |
