What a sad story.

Technically, at over 500 years old Nenhim would be an adult as Elves reach their maturity at 50 (though some continue to grow until they reach 100). But that's a nitpick. Overall, this is very well done.

Poor Nenhim. He never found the sun.

Wonderful- I love the idea that Gimli is sensitive and stops Legolas telling him he is not Aredhil. And his song is of te sea, of course. Really nicely done.

It was... sweet. Yeah, It was, although I shamefully admit that my hair stood on end during the reading... :) You wrote this piece very well. The story flowed smoothly and, despite the scant detail due to the point of view of the dying prisoner, I found myself not confused at all - at least not until the matter of age was regarded. True, the measure of time of the Elf's imprisonment and how many years he had spent as a free being baffled me, but otherwise the piece was nigh on perfection.

So the Elf mistook Legolas for his friend, eh? I wonder why... Because of his failing eyesight or imagination or because Legolas had indeed been the other Elf he talked about - which, I think, not. This story was interesting on its own, in a rather morbid sense. The end was both stabbing and relieving; a bittersweet one. Strangely, the part I most love is when Namo welcomed the poor Elf (pardon me for forgetting his name) into his arms. Well, the god of death there didn't look intimidating. ;D

I winced when Legolas announced that the prisoner was a child. I half-agree with him; 500 years can be considered a short span of time for an Elf to live, despite Tolkien's insist that the Elves mature at age 100. But, to have the point proven in writing... It was the last, greatest blow.

LOL Now you see that I was submerged in the story. I feel embarrassed... But well, at least please don't laugh at me. :P

That was a beautiful, sad, touching, story. Brilliantly written. I loved it.

that so sad! how did he get there! adn why did he think legolas was someone else? how did they find him? its all so confusing, but still sad and it make s one happy to know he didnt die alone, but that he died just as rescue had come is wonerfully tragic.

Sob! That was so beautiful but you ought to put a tissue warning on it!
