hopeless territory chapter 1 . 8/1/2011 I can't believe I'm actually reviewing a story. I haven't done so in over three years, maybe even longer. But, this story absolutely deserves it. I'd read L is for Lucifer, L is for Lamb, and after doing so, I was hoping for the same story, but in L's POV. I wanted to know what he had thought when he was out in the rain. I wanted to know what the bells meant. I wanted to know why he smiled while facing death.. Alas, most authors don't do that sort of thing so I just kept reading your other stories. However! You have proved me wrong. I opened this story assuming it was a standalone story, but once I read "this is a sister story..", I kid you not, I squealed like a fangirl promised a naked photo of L. (Because, who wouldn't? We all know Raito would. Just saying. Er, anyway..) This story was absolutely beautiful. Both of these stories (or any of your stories, for that matter) are so IC, that I'm inclined to believe they're canon. When I first watched episode 25, I was confused by both of their actions- a foot massage? What? I brushed all of it off at the time, more overwhelmed with the fact that L was dead a few moments later. Then, looking back on it, I searched out the meaning of that scene, to no avail. There was no mention of it on the Death Note wiki or various other fanfictions. If it WAS mentioned, I felt as though most of the authors oversimplified their thoughts and emotions, and made them seem like they just wanted to jump each other's bones, which I wholeheartedly disagree with. The relationship between L and Raito is way too complicated to simplify it into "Oh man look how sexay L looks I SHOULD SEX HIM aw wait I have to kill him :(". (..Although I wouldn't exactly mind them engaging in, well, certain activities.. ehehe.) Needless to say, this story is amazing. More than amazing. I would favorite it 100 times if I could. BTW, I found that "One is All, All is One" from the Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood is incredibly fitting for reading this story to, especially if you've watched the anime and know what the phrase means. |
Viyola chapter 1 . 11/13/2010 This story seriously made me cry! I think I've read it before a long time ago, but I reread it, even though I almost remember it. It's very good, and incredibly touching! I haven't cried over a story in a while... |
Chibi Kitty Sama chapter 1 . 11/24/2009 Oh Kira! This is amazing. I'm almost crying now! Damnit! *checks the fave box to you and your story* |
Emilie Rose chapter 1 . 10/12/2009 Wow. Just wow! This is so great. Poor L. Ilove him so much! *sniff sniff* |
OrangeR0se chapter 1 . 9/17/2009 I just love this! I love the way L has come to understand who both he and Light are, but doesn't really want to accept it, and the way he comments on how REAL Light is, how he lives in a real world, despite how obsessed he is with another one. |
TangerineTea chapter 1 . 7/15/2008 That was stunning. It strikes me that the Death Note fandom produces some of the deepest, most astounding beauty I've ever read at . So thank you. One day I hope to write as half as well as you do. :) We will never forget you, L Lawliet. Rest in Peace. |
Star Jinin chapter 1 . 7/7/2008 Beautiful. It's everything I've ever thought about L, from the inhuman side of him to the part of him that was seculded from the world. How he doesn't know what to believe. I guess that's what makes him an atheist. When I first read over this story, I couldn't really tell what was so special about it. Now, I know better. L's so in character, how he's still thinking about the Kira case even though his subconsious knows that he's gonna die soon. And he's not feeling betrayed like the way other fanfics put it. I don't think L is capable of feeling that betrayed and get all emotional like that. At least not openly, not even in his mind. What I love about your writing is that it maintains that incredible quality. It doesn't matter wether it's a romance, humor, angst, or drama. You keep your style in every genre you write and you pass on your mood to the reader. Keep up the good work! |
Rageful Jewel chapter 1 . 5/27/2008 I think that you really captured L personality. When I saw episode 25 I cried at the end because in the end, L was human to me. He wasn't a random fictional character and the scenes in the rain and on the stairs made me see that. I once again was made to see that in your story and for that I thank you. I thank you because it is very easy to disassociate oneself from people without even realizing it and this story is a reminder that beneath it all, everyone is human and should be treated as such. I hope that what I wrote makes sense to you because at this moment it just looks like I am rambling. Anyway, your story was great and it has been placed on my favorites list. Now I am going to read the sister story to Faith of an Atheist. |
the sadistic homicidal child chapter 1 . 4/19/2008 Many people have said that L is autisitc. :P God, I loved that scene in the anime. It was so beautiful. A lovely change that I truly appreciated. To be L would be Confusion. The constant thoughts and theories, the nonstop revelations and conspiracies. And then Kira. Raito. A single person that, with use of a divine tool and incredible intellect, was able to end Lawliet's existence. A strange man that was beautiful in his odd perfection. You capture L so wonderfuly, and the wonders of a name as well. A name is nothing, merely something to be acknowledged by when pronouns become too many in a sentence. Often times, I forget my own name, or am confused when someone tries to talk to me using my birthname. I merely forget it, is all. I have no attachment to the name besides the legalities on paper. This is, in a way, somewhat similar to L's many aliases and the meaning behind a name. I love the way you write it though. I can only ever think thoughts, and you have the tremendous talent laying in your fingertips to write it out. Bravo. _ Heehee, I noticed the "equal in death" thing occured again. It's terribly true. No matter who or what you are, if you are alive, you will meet an end in death, just like all other living beings. |
Gathine chapter 1 . 3/29/2008 It was so a good fic to read...I don't know what to say... I really loved it! I've read a lot of your Death note fics and you really are a great writer. |
