This pulled on my heartstrings. When I was a little girl my grandpa and I used to recite this poem together every night, and you have brilliantly incorporated it into my favorite fandom. Bravo! :D

this is really sweet ans i love how you add the prayer it adds a nice break in the writing that gives each piece time to sink in. im glad hes still alive, though i really wish that there was more of a story to it

Interesting POV. I've never thought of the turtles as being the type to pray - or at least, know the specific words to a prayer. Though I suppose of all of them, it makes sense that Mikey would know it. He just seems the type more than the others, I guess.

Will we ever know what happened here? Sounds like an interesting story idea. Either way, this was a good, quick read. Thanks for sharing it!

Great writing here. I like how you countered the cliche of the life flashing before your eyes before you die: "I’m remembering, yes… but I’m remembering it slowly. Slower with every heartbeat, with every drop of blood." That line stuck out for me, there's some great imagery in it.

This was a really good oneshot... touching... I think death is one of those things you always wonder about, no matter what religion you follow... and I thought the ending was pretty clear. You did a great job!

Very moving. I held out hope this wouldn't be a death fic, especially where you termed this drama/angst.

Loved the nursery rhyme. I used to say it at bedtime when I was little, even though my parents didn't attend church. I do have to say that I only know the part 'Now I lay me down to sleep, I pray the Lord my soul to keep'. That's about it. Didn't know there was more to it. LOL

Well, it's not certain if Mike survived or not. Sleeping can mean a lot of things.
