this is seriously among the most emotionally depressing fics I have ever forced myself through and it was amazing. I am so,so thankful you wrote this, even though it brought tears to my eyes it was really great. In fantasyland everything would have worked out perfectly and ponies and fairies would be involved, here you showed us a side of the ouran world which isn't so nice and perfect endings despite how neatly they wrap up their loose ends, aren't always happy.
