Hey great story! I like it. I think its one of the most realistic 'recovery stories' I've read. I especially like the end, those words that Daniel wrote. I like how your retelling of the torture was minimalist and not the focus. Good job!

This was well written, very heart-wrenching. For Daniel to withstand that and then make it back shows a great depth of internal strength, and very determined friends.

Simply breathtaking. I cried. Which is incredible considering that I nearly discarded the story within the first few sentences as I don't normally enjoy 1st person perspective stories. But you made it work without being...cheesey. Nice one.

I have to admit it has taken me a few days to read this fic, and I will tell you why in a minute.

The story I fill was really well wrighten, and well done. I am glad you didn't get to invaulved in the torture part, but gave us enough to quese at what was done to Daniel. The recovery was very well done. As it is the small things that usually make a difference in the recovery.

Torture is one of the few things that you can't capture on a TV shows or in the movies. Not even reenactments can show the real horrers of it. But if you ever run into someone that has been through it, and if they want to talk abuot it in anyway. You sit there and you listen to them till they are done. When they finish with their story of what they went through, how they felt, the fear, the anger, the hummilaition of it, the scars (both physicaly and mentally), and then the recovery. You will have met someone who has ben through his/her owen personal hell, and may or may not have come back from it totally. I pray for men and weman like that along with my father that was a P.O.W. Vietman from 1969 - 1973. He still wakes up to this day screaming in the night, soaking wet, and afraid of his own shaddow for a few hours after it. We know not to touch him when he is like this till he colms down, or he will try to hurt us. This is why it took my so long to read your fic. It brought back alot of memories for me as a child.
