Reviews for TOMORROW
serial napper chapter 53 . 3/29
I love this story and everything about it.
serial napper chapter 48 . 3/29
When I first started this story, I was worried that it would be depressing the entire time, what with Scarlett's suicide attempts and everyone's neglect of Ella. But I've been pleasantly surprised, and instead found a story that is in its way more hopeful than Gone with the Wind ever was. Whereas Gone with the Wind was about survival, in this story I feel like the characters are really living. I adore Ella and Kin, and I think that in some ways their relationship is far better than Scarlett and Rhett's own story ever was. At the start of the story, I hated how Scarlett seemed hopeless after the end of the novel, but I really like what you've done with her. This feels like the sequel that Gone with the Wind deserves. It's an amazing story.
Dixie Dewdrop chapter 1 . 1/27
I am so glad you have made little Ella the focal point-
JMM chapter 1 . 12/15/2019
I just found your book Tomorrow, and I read it in 24 hours. You did an amazing job developing a minor character into a leading lady, an unlikely southern belle to a western heroine. I enjoyed how you weaved in characters and excerpts from GWTW, but focused on this new generation. I worried about Buck and hoped he would find a happier ending, but I like to think Baby Aloysius will arrive in the spring and will be quite the sidekick for Melly. Thank you for this book!
Aunt Flora chapter 53 . 1/8/2019
I really enjoyed this and the gentle landing for our two protagonists after such turbulent lives. I like the way the children were involved but not the cause of the ending.
gumper chapter 53 . 8/23/2018
Wow; what a positively epic story! GWTW meets Lonesome Dove...two of my absolute favorites...

So well written...riveting plot...really interesting and memorable new/secondary characters...

I LOVE "little" Ella Kennedy! She has grown up to be her mother in so many ways...but a nicer/kinder version than the original/young Scarlett O'Hara. Her determination to find her mother, overall 'gumption' in dealing with all sorts of adversity and kind, non judgmental attitude is perfect. The scene where she bravely takes Rhett on/tells him off is brilliant. Kin is great too. I have always believed the "ward" to be Rhett and Belle's son...and this really fleshes out what would have been the painful reality of his early life given that parentage. What a perfect combo they are together.

I love all the subtle ways you have woven in tidbits of the original GWTW story in this story. The 'appearances' of Melanie Wilkes in times of crisis, "beloved; I am coming home to you," "mutual grandchildren," Gerald's watch...(LOVE that Pork!)...the parallel Ella/Beau and Scarlett/Ashley transition to Ella/Kin and Scarlett/Rhett.

Your characterizations of India and Sue Ellen were spot on. I also liked the elevation of Belle from the 'illiterate whore' of the original to more of an educated free spirit who is doing what she likes and reading Dickens and Thackery aloud!

George Darcy is such a great addition Scarlett's life and story. I personally prefer the notion of her returning his love and the two of them living happily ever after...very sad to lose him particularly so soon after his daughter's birth.

I hated to think of Scarlett chasing Rhett early on, being driven to suicide attempts (half hearted or not) and losing her children and everything she loved...but it could have happened like that if she had not been able to let go of the 'I'll think of some way to get him back' mantra and accept defeat. It's also arguable that in that mental condition and as an absolute social pariah she would have been doing the best thing possible by just disappearing and leaving her children behind. The scene where she tells Rhett that she has finally lost all hope and is going away forever is really poignant, believable and well done.

I really hated Rhett Butler in this story. While it's great that he 'got his groove back' amidst the late breaking adventure of seeking out Scarlett almost all of his prior behavior was (IMO) reprehensible and unforgivable. The cruel way he seemed to toy with Scarlett that finally led her to run from even New Orleans...the reputation ruining divorce...the lackluster way he dealt with ALL his children, biological or not (Kin, Wade and Ella) - leaving them all to grow up as unwanted orphans. Ugh. I wish the story had continued on a bit more to see how he navigated his dealings with Kin and Ella after so much betrayal...and if and when he ever begged Scarlett's forgiveness for HIS part in their original failed relationship and dastardly (and decidedly UNkind treatment) afterwards...and of course his reaction to Scarlett's youngest child (a Bonnie lookalike)...

Fantastic story - thanks for sharing it.

I LOVED IT.

Oh, my word, I love happy endings. But for real, it's like a GWTW Lonesome Dove crossover.
heresvivi chapter 53 . 2/1/2017
Great story. So original. I suppose it might be pushing things too far, but Scarlett is young enough to still give Rhett another child. That would be so amazing. Wish you had a few more chapters so we could read about the passionate reunion of Rhett and Scarlett. Oh and I think George and Scarlett would have had their intimate relationship continue after the first time. Even if it was for mere physical release and comfort. Thanks for sharing this wonderful story with everyone! I loved your Ella so much!
Chibi-Lill chapter 53 . 4/15/2016
I was a bit skeptical at first but I must admit that I've read your story twice already ! I love your take on the characters. The only thing that doesn't sit so well with me is Scarlett begging Rhett to come back and attempting to kill herself. In my opinion, Scarlett is a survivor and a fighter and she didn't beg Rhett at the end of GWTW. Nevertheless, one can imagine that her late discovery of her love might change her and drive her to these extremities.
I have really loved your Ella and your Scarlett Darcy. Ella has Scarlett's fire in her and the way her own progression mirrors Scarlett's own was really fascinating. She learns through hardships more clearly than Scarlett did and growns into a strong and kind lady of sort. Kin is, in his own fashion, a much better husband than Rhett ever was to Scarlett ! He is an interesting man. I had figured he was Rhett's son early on but I suppose it was intended. I must say that I am much happier for them than I am for Rhett and Scarlett ! After being able to rise once again with Dr. Darcy's help, I think I would have liked a Scarlett happy on her own. Everyone keeps saying how mean Scarlett was to Rhett but IMO he is as much, if not more, at fault in the failure of their marriage. She made it clear she didn't love him when they married and yet he kept expecting this from her. But you've made her grow independent and free, happy of sort even without Rhett, and combined with Rhett having made amends, that might be a sound basis for their renewed relationship ! Thank you very much for this story, which is one of the most interesting takes of post-GWTW fanfics that I've read ! :)
Guest chapter 53 . 3/2/2016
Love both of your GWTW stories, I hope you write another some day.
Archergirl78 chapter 53 . 9/27/2015
I almost stopped reading this after the first two chapters because I couldn't fathom a GWTW without Scarlett. But I didn't and I'm very glad. I adore your Ella and Kin and this quickly became one of my all time favorite GWTW 'sequels'. Fabulous work.
lostrocket chapter 53 . 2/7/2015
I really lost it when you got to the Scarlett chapters and I don't think I stopped crying until the end. This was a fantastic story. I enjoyed the little similarities from the novel, and to Scarlett, that you slipped in for Ella. This was a great GWTW story and also a fun Western.
lostrocket chapter 9 . 2/7/2015
This story is messed up, your interpretation of these characters is twisted, you've ruined everyone's lives; it's absolutely beautiful and heartbreaking and I can't stop reading it.
starlite22 chapter 53 . 11/19/2014
Wasn't sure wether to read this story or not as it wasn't a Rhett Scarlett story, but it lovely, beautifuly written, glad Scarlet found a good husband and built a life for self. Pleased she found her daughter again. shame Wade wanted nothing to do with her or Ella. Wonder became if Sur, can imagine Scarlett being made when she finds out how Sue treated her children so badly.
One with the Wind chapter 53 . 7/5/2014
This was not what I was expecting this story to be about. I was pleasantly surprised. I really enjoyed this the whole way through. I would have loved to have seen more of ella x kin relationship though!
