Gave in too quickly if you ask me. Even though it was on the forefront of her mind to know, she never actually asked why her out of all the eligible upper class women in his circle. Overall she just gave up. The boys would have had one hell of a time getting her to speak to them in the next three months let alone attempt a relationship required for an engaged couple. They would be counting their blessings if she didn't bolt out of the house and go somewhere else for a few days to cool off. Not only was his not discussed with her at the point of proposition, but her father waited until after the proposition was already in play, letting her find out on her own. So it's not just a betrayal, it's the ultimate blindeside. This came completely out of left field and in just a few minutes she's calm enough to accept a deal that once again was decided without her consent, AND she's calm enough to even think ahead and propose a deal of her own? Not a chance. Sorry, but that just doesn't seem plausible.
