Thank you for such an interesting, in-depth look at how New Caprica could have gone differently for Kara.

I really liked the shifting POVs and seeing how the different characters thought and reacted to not only what had happened Kara, but to her responses. They sought to understand why she was the person she was and her actions. This was always something I longed for from those that claimed to be her family.

Seeing Lee and Adama working to understand what Kara had been through and to provide her the support they'd failed to before really helped with the issues I had with the TV show's canon after Torn. I have to imagine that this story came about because of how...incomplete/neglected/disregarded Kara's whole experience on New Caprica was on the show. So, I appreciate your efforts to provide the Comfort for your Kara that she never got from the TV writers.

I also liked the slow reveals and how difficult they were for all involved. Hurt/Comfort, I admit, is my preferred sub-genre. I want to experience all the emotions and you definitely worked them over here.

And as for the subject matter, it never felt like you were treating the material lightly or with disregard to it's rippling & devastating impact.

Thank you again for picking up this story after a long hiatus and taking it to what feels like a satisfactory stopping point. For those of us that got sucked into this fic, I want to say how much we appreciate your sticking with it over such an extended time.

Well, I'm so glad that you toughed it out and finished this story as there are so many other stories just left hanging, unfinished.

So thank you...for just finishing it and also, for leaving a Work in progress Kara...she has taken the step back to life and I like the fact that. We are each left to complete her journey ourself.

I know Black Market dipped it's toe into how the civilians, and children, of the Fleet were at risk, but you really bring that home here with Cottle's musings.

Glad to see that he is ready to push the guys into 'moving on' with Kara's rebuilding. And I liked that he acknowledged that he's been affected by her, too.

This made a nice summary-type chapter.

I liked the overview feel to it with the callback to Adama's & Lee's actions before they found out what Kara had been through. Their attitude then still pisses me so I like having them revisit how poorly they initially acted and acknowledge it.

Glad Adama realizes that it's the fact that the Cylons broke her can be considered Kara's main focus of distress. As she's said often enough, the abuse was old hat to her, it was the fact that she lost her ability to resist-'had it beaten out of her'.

Really liked the ending when he accepts that as much as he wants to 'fix' her, it's really something that she has to do and all he can do is provide constant, reassuring support.

He and Lee both have come a long ways in understanding.

Ha! Glad to see Lee getting a sense of how Kara feels when they all keep pressing her to talk. That should help him be more circumspect when pushing her for into in the future.

"...you are there if she wants to talk to you, while making it clear that it is her choice. You don't act embarrassed and you don't push. You just move on... and in doing so you allow her to do the same" -Now if only Lee (and Adama) will actually HEAR and follow this advice.

Thank you for the story. I am loving it. However, i'm finding myself a bit frustrated about FINALLY getting some info on what happened, what really happened and how Kara is feeling and thinking. I'm hoping to get a bit of that resolved in the next couple of chapters. Other than that, enjoying the story.

I'm not a Sam hater. I actually love Sam! While I will admit to being a Starbuck and Apollo Shipper, I started to love Sam and Starbuck too, So this chapter made me sad. But it was realistic so that was good.

I love the way you are writing Cottle. It makes me actually see him, as he was played on the show. I loved him!

Wow. You have me feel Kara's horror in this chapter. I love it! The way the realization creeps up on her that her eggs may still be out there.

So happy that we're finally getting everyone starting to understand what happened to her and that, even if she's fighting telling them, she's finally starting to.

I am really enjoying the story, but I have to say, I do believe Sam is lacking a bit too much. I was and still am a Lee and Kara 'shipper' (although, Sam really grew on me) And I think he should be brought into these conversations a bit more.

I'm liking that Kara still has a bit of spunk at this point. I like the way you are putting down all the stuff that seemed glossed over and pushed to the back of the story in the show. You are making me see everyone's pain and anger, I like that.

I'm sorry you felt this chapter was hard. I loved it! My Kara IS strong, but she's so flawed (which I love about her)and I believe you showed her strength and her flaws perfectly.

You have to think of Sam as human at this point. Because he and everyone else thinks he is. That may help you get into his mind a bit more. However, I don't think you're doing a bad job with him at all.
