Pretty fun. You really captured Christopher's demeanor, and might have even taken it a step further. I especially love that last line, the way you have to say EVERYTHING twice before Christopher notices. And I do wonder how Gabriel de Witt didn't catch on to Christopher's terrible misuse of magic bringing all that stuff over from other series, but then Christopher seems pretty skilled at fooling the old man, so it may be just that. I loved how you added Conrad into the story and Christopher's "suddenly sober lordly scowl" was awesome.

If you allow me to leave a suggestion, I do think you should have started your story with that second section. This line: "In the cupboard of her bedside table at school, Millie had built up a small collection of bizarre goods" is a great first line for a story.

Just wanted to say that this is one of the few fanfics I keep coming back to read. One line is especially striking: "His dark head moved from side to side with all the inarticulate pride of a purebred racehorse and Millie recognised that that was all he could say. She either understood or she didn't." Really loved this sweet and anxious love story, and hope you keep writing!

This is fantastic, I especially like the ending and having to say things twice to Christopher! Wish you had some more Chrestomanci fanfic - this one is funny and quirky enough to be just right!
