A.D.Curtis chapter 21 . 2/21 Drawing hair on Aang! That is hilarious! “The earth is a rock, Bumi. When you commune with it, the only one talking is YOU.” Pretty brilliant, I’ll admit. So sorry to come to the end without finding out how Bumi became King or seeing a more substantial resolution with Kuzon (although I like that he left his revenge behind). But we’ll done! This has been an amazing, epic story! Thanks for writing it and doing Bumi such incredible justice! |
A.D.Curtis chapter 21 . 2/20 I’m sorry to see how much Bumi wants to kill Kuzon. Its true they are both prepared to kill each other. It just makes me sad... I really like Cahim (although I think he might be the mole...?) The conflict between him and Bumi is so interesting to watch. “It takes more than you have to be one of us...” “Like what?” “Like empathy.” Boom. Hit that nail on the head! I love how you have developed a character who we root for, but nonetheless has so much room for improvement. |
A.D.Curtis chapter 15 . 2/18 Whoa! That was a terrible exchange. I feel kinda bad for Kuzonhe was born to serve his country and he’s been fed a lot of propaganda. But I’m his heart of hearts he also know that hat his nation has done (especially to the Air Nomads) was wrong. He is trying to ignore his nations guilt (and his own shame). But wow, Bumi’s response?! So he has now chosen a side. It’s all pretty tragic, actually. I wish Aang were there to help the two of them make peace (or maybe it is better he is not there to witness them make war). “...had managed to convince the earthbenders that he was better ridiculed quietly and from afar.” Hah! Bumi is such a unique character! I adore how you have written him: riddled with flaws, but also undeniable strengths and endearing quarks. His ability to get under people’s skin being one of them. “The rift between the smart and the dumb.” Bumi is brilliant and he certainly would have been brilliant at war! I’m totally caught up in this village bombing! Can’t wait to see what happens! (And dang it Bumi! You need to listen! Cahim was trying to tell you something important!) |
A.D.Curtis chapter 13 . 2/15 I LOVE thank Bumi name one of the twins Bizzorzix, haha! It’s good to see Bumi learning from people from the other nations. It’s sweet his interactions with the water tribers. Oh I like this chief! I’m glad he doesn’t let Bumi’s money buy whatever he wants. This man has pride, and I kinda like him teaching Bumi a thing or twoBut by ‘pull my weight’ I meant ‘pay you to put up with me not pulling my weight’!” Haha! I love how you write Bumi! “Porpoise was neither good not bad enough to be part of a fitting afterlife” Lol I’ve really enjoyed these water tribe chapters. You developed Bumi and his relationship to and understanding of the southern tribesmen so well. His initial foreignness compared to his final feelings of pride and familyjust beautiful! “Semi-swineAh! This end! Oh no, Kuzon!? |
A.D.Curtis chapter 9 . 2/5 “Mipsie had no comment.” Lol Good work Bumi. You got brains, and earthbending and a whole lot of luck on your side, man! |
A.D.Curtis chapter 7 . 2/3 Ah, the gorilla-goat mama. Good for you Bumi! Aang would be proud! |
A.D.Curtis chapter 6 . 2/3 Haha! Thus the curse of the cabbage man! “Recently repluralized feet” Bumi wanting the prosthetic foot to be a taloned one! Lol! He is such a believable kid! Thank you for writing him as a boy. Not just a grown up with an age called 13but a kid with actual kid thoughts (even if he is pretty brilliant). I love this chapter! You led up to this so well that it is completely believable that Bumi could make this sale and get rich after all. And I like Shou; I hope we get to see more of him. Love it! |
A.D.Curtis chapter 4 . 1/31 “Anybody could crush a man’s ribcage with a rock, but this far only Bumi could crush a man’s reputation and self esteem.” Oh my gosh I love your Bumi! This kid has so much spunk and general lack of interest in consequences; But it’s obvious he is a good soul. And I like how you are showing him learning about the real worldall valuable education if he is to one day be a great king. And even this young it is clear he is bright and an outside the box thinker. I’m loving this! |
SasoriTactic chapter 16 . 9/28/2019 Just this whole scene is tragic. Bumi and Kuzon left behind once best of friends now at each other throats. It makes you wonder what would've happened if Aang did stay..or perhaps successfully ran away to Omashu. |
Seph37 chapter 21 . 3/26/2016 This is such an amazing story! I love Bumi and I appreciate how much attention you have given his character. I know that you haven't updated in a while but please don't abandon this story! We were just getting to some of the best parts of Bumi's life I feel. |
DaMojoKing chapter 2 . 2/5/2016 I came across your fanfic while perusing the AvatarSpirit forums in search of a complete list of the 85 jings. I am a writer, so I'm not just saying this ignorantly. It's late, so I won't go into specifics, but YOU, sir, could have written for the show. And probably better than half of the people currently employed. Well done. |
Guest chapter 21 . 8/6/2015 All right, I want an update. This thing is too good to be left alone. |
Whyhow chapter 16 . 5/5/2015 This one was a lot more fun than the last few. It's fine to tell us about Bumi's exploits, but it's much more interesting when we can hear him talk and think. |
Whyhow chapter 11 . 5/5/2015 I, like Bumi, have mixed feelings about Pathik, but I like your portrayal of him. |
Whyhow chapter 5 . 5/4/2015 I'm not a big fan of the bar scene in particular, but in general I still enjoy most of them. |
