'as long as we don't bugger the future we're fine' and then he goes and does just that. typical doctor. I love the way you've wrote Sam, and how you actually made a unique story begin chilling on this site, glad I caught it! it's a brilliant one.

This is going straight onto my Favourites - I love both shows and I love crossover fic; this is the best of both! You've avoided the obvious -that Sam Tyler and The Master are somehow connected - and instead gone for the Tyler connection in a really original way. That the Doctor should try to save one Tyler but be unable to and try to make up for it by saving the other is a slant I haven't seen before and it worked really well.

As other reviews have noted, the characters are spot on, and you've kept the flavour of both worlds wonderfully. I've written (and have WiP) some DW/LoM crossover stuff and that is perhaps the most difficult part, working out how a character from one show might react to those from another when they are so very different.

I would love to see more of this story - although it's a while ago that it was written, so perhaps you've moved on? - that Jackie chooses to stay by Sam's bedside seems like a possible springboard for more, to me!

Brilliant-I loved this. Although seeing the same actor who plays Sam as the Master in Doctor Who really would have tempted me to pull this story in a completely different direction!

You've written this story extremely well. The characters are spot-on and the story never seems inane or lacking. I'm a huge Life On Mars fan and a growing Doctor Who fan, so this is easily going on my favorite list.

Oh, yay! I absolutely adore both of these shows, and I haven't seen any crossovers before. Perhaps I'm not searching hard enough but, either way, this was begging to be written and you did it so wonderfully! I think you got Sam very well. The difficult thing with crossovers - and the reason I usually avoid them - is that people rarely seem to get the characters or the shows/their universes to meld together well, but I could really see this as an episode of either show. It worked brilliantly, and all credit to your writing.

Wonderful, wonderful. I love this story just for being a Life on Mars fanfic. It's even better that it's a good one.

Only one minor point of criticism: I would have loved it better if the first scene with Sam was entirely from Sam's POV, like the Life on Mars episodes are all told from Sam's POV.

Other than that, excellent story.
