You know, I wouldn't mind seeing this story turn from a one-shot into a full-blown story, all in Yami's POV. It really would go well.

Really enjoyable

This is pure, unabridged, sweet perfection. The spirit is a crazy, obsessed maniac at this point (and who wouldn't be, locked away for 3000 years...?), and I can absolutely see everything in this being canon.

Brilliant! A sequel to this would be pretty interesting, as the spirit learns more about not being an asshole, bit by bit. That's the reason I like this series so much, (or the anime, as it's the one that I've seen) because of the hidden character development of both Yugi and the Spirit. Whom I like to refer to as Phil.
But anyway, this kind of story is exactly the kind of story I've been wanting to read- one that looks more closely at what Phil experiences. This kind of stuff fascinates me a whole lot, and I'm disappointed (but not surprised) that the show and manga never really looked too closely at this concept.
Also, that"the knowledge flowed through the veins that he didn't have much like the blood he also didn't have" line caused me to burst out laughing in the middle of class.

Sensory deprivation can drive people crazy. Millenia of it, without even death as an escape? Oh, yes, Atem is very much insane when he first awakens, and it never quite ends. *shudders* Creepy.

A direct sequel of this would be lovely. There are hints of a more psychotic Yami, the reason I loved season zero and I would love to see how Yugi would react to his other self for the first time.
