It was a good story and definitely worth slogging through. I think the hardest aspect to continuing is that the verb tense stayed in the present tense at all times. Toward the end there was some variation which helped the flow.
I really appreciated the characterizations and how you stayed true to canon. There were definitely some new elements that made the story stand out, such as the Spirit Oasis water and also getting a deeper insight into what King Bumi was thinking.

I'm always a bit wary of postwar stories because I've read so many super depressing ones. But this just grabbed me!

There was mystery cousins and politics without ever being boring, heaps of adventure and intrigue and all my favourite characters...completely believable five years on. You wrote each them so well that I fell in love with them all over again.

Rereading this wonderful story again. Just a note: You used 'counsel' instead of 'council' in chapter 4, and later on wrote 'palette' instead of 'pallet'

So I suppose I owe you a thank you for providing a nice distraction from the work that I'm supposed to be doing, since it was really stressing me out. I can't say that your story completely captivated me, though, since I have actually gotten a fair amount of work done.

It's kinda funny. There are parts of this that I really, really like - Zuko's characterization. The political scenes. And, for once, I actually enjoyed the romance, which I usually just skim over or avoid completely (not my cup of tea). So those were very well done.

But most of the flashback scenes, for some reason, made me cringe. I don't know why, but they felt very...forced...compared to the rest of it...particularly when combat was involved. There were a few I just didn't feel were particularly plausible.

My keyboard is freezing up, and it's taking me forever to write a sentence, so I'm going to stop here. And read the sequel.

I do have to say there were some times when I wanted to take it out of the screen, rip it apart, and eat it, but I thought it would be bad for my stomache so I read on and desided it would taste like cookies if I had eaten it. Haha.

I wouldn't have chosen to heal Zuko scar, tho I was ready to kill somthing if you killed him.

I thought the OC pairrings where great! Changes Haru's name was a good call. I have to say added Ty Lee in was one of the greatest parts of this story (aside from the whole Zutara thing, which will never be anything awesomer).

This story made my day(s). I'm a sucker for Happy Endings!
