LunaSphere chapter 1 . 2/18/2007 I really enjoyed this-you captured the fairytale essence in this beautifully, down to the repetition of every thing in threes. Those last few lines: “Of curiosity I sought you. Of devotion I found you. Of love I cannot know It’s bathed in blood and will not grow...” were really well written. Generally moments like this in fanfic are written like trashy poetry, but you handled the lines with elegance and grace. At first, I wasn't sure I liked the phrasing, but by the end when you had them all together in that final chant, they were genuinely poignant. I especially loved how the emotions you choose refer to particular episode from the show-the curiosity, devotion, and lack of love. My one criticism would be that you might want to reconsider some of your diction. For example, in the opening, you have "This was because her father was a monster raven and sorely vexed that his only daughter was a human..." 'Sorely vexed' seems like a gross understatement in this case and I don't think you need to hammer in the transition so much. You could simply change it to "Her father was a monster raven and furious that..." A little judicious trimming like that throughout might be helpful. That aside, a beautifully wrought fairytale. |

Astrobright68 chapter 1 . 2/16/2007 Fantastic. and refreshing. (so many fakiru fics out there! other pairings need lovin'!) well written, and i love how you called her Kraehe and not Rue the entire story. everything's connection with seeds and gardens were beautiful. i am definitely adding this to my favorites. _ and i love how Tutu was never named. just called the princess. although, the concept of the words 'of nothing i love you' were a little hard to wrap my mind around. but i liked how she came to him each night and how you called it a 'coffin of iron feathers' because that's truly what it was. i know when i go back and watch that scene, your words will come to mind. _ |
