AnonymousGripe chapter 32 . 12/6/2019 Also, are we meant to believe they think 'the power the Dark Lord knows not' is Dark magic, hate, or legillimency? |
AnonymousGrip chapter 31 . 12/6/2019 WTF Harry has Stockholm syndrome... He has literally been kidnapped and coerced. He should be at Hogwarts. He should gtfo while Snape is weak. I literally cannot it took him 2 days to be like 'oh well, I guess he will control me.' |
AnonymousGripe chapter 30 . 12/5/2019 Ok, I love this story and I know no one is reading this - but in case someone does... Why is Harry suddenly dumb / with no backbone? He was much more intelligent in the chapters at Hogwarts. Snape is just wrong on many counts here. - Draco is a reasonable target for minor discomfort that will assist in the war effort because he is a willing death eater. As a result, he's no longer a child or a civilian - he's an enemy soldier. - Let's say ~80% of Slytherin was on the Inquisitorial Squad. Yes, perhaps they should have reached out to the remaining 20%. However, (1) it *is* more likely that they would tell Umbridge if only because it would be untenable to live safely in their own house if others thought they were on the wrong side (2) no one in the other three houses was friends with any Slytherins. Maybe this is both of their faults (strange, because the other three houses had no issues being friends with one another) but this made it extremely difficult to reach out. Yes, in an ideal world, they should have included more Slytherins, but you have to excuse the 15 year old waging an insurrection for being limited by his circumstances when his safety and sanity is on the line. - "It was not a Slytherin who betrayed you in the end" - well, because there were no Slytherins... we don't know what would've happened in the counterfactual where he accepted them. - Dumbledore gave three first years who successfully fought off Voldemort house points - this seems warranted. In contrast, how many of Slytherin's points were awarded by Snape unfairly? And how many other houses' points were taken away unfairly? Given the other professors do not show this favoritism - and Dumbledore has only given out points in crazy circumstances that actually seem deserved - it actually seems that Snape is in the wrong here. - Giving Harry a broom as a first year is demeaning to Slytherin house? How? If any other first year had shown his talent on a broom, Snape could've easily asked for an exception. That's exactly what Minerva did. - The werewolf situation with Snape was far from ideal, but if he had expelled them, he would have had to expel Remus too - and condemn him to an entire life of suffering in spite of him being an innocent party. Perhaps he thought punishing the guilty in a way that didn't harm the innocent was better. Besides, they fixed their actions in time. - Every single one of these things pales in comparison to Snape's actions. Trying to put him under a potion that took away his free will (literally make him a slave), kidnap him, demean him, etc. - as an adult to a child who has done nothing to him. I'm a big mentor!Snape fan but I just can't support this Snape. |

Arboreal Musteline chapter 50 . 8/4/2019 That was amazing. My favorite parts were around chapters 20-25, when things were building up onpy to crash painfully. As much as I agree that it was the turning point that's necessary to happen at about halfway to the end, though, I felt that the politics, characterization of Dumbledore, and the journey from that midpoint relaxed the tension that should have been made increasing. Or, at least, should be made relaxing for two or three chapters before building up again like crazy. That is why, imo, I kinda skim through until about chapter 45, keeping on reading just because I wanted to know how this piece would end, and not because I was still invested in it. All in all, though, great piece, and a nice addition to my fav list. |
