This was great! The way you wrote it, easy to follow and I loved the turn of events. This is how I imagined it would go for Steph and Ranger, loved their exchanges. Mrs Mazur with a hat was a great highlight! You did amazing! One of my favorites from now on, thank you!

I just found this story this weekend and I absolutely loved it. You sent Steph on an emotional rollercoaster that helped her 'grown up' and that helped her and Ranger get together. You have a good way with words and a very strong grasp of your characters. Can't wait to read your other stories. Keep up the good work.

Having read the entire story, overall I'm really impressed. Thank you for sharing! I really liked your take on Stephanie, and think you did a good job keeping her in character for the entire story. I like that you didn't just turn her into mini-Ranger or make her suddenly supercompetent. I can't See her suddenly loving exercise or not eating donuts :)
That Said, i feel the need to be a bit mean and say that after such a great build-up, the end was a bit of a let-down. The hostage situation just seemed to go on forever, and it felt so unneccessary. I get wanting to write steph learning to take instruction and learning to listen better, but not at the cost of introducing several unneccessary oc's and a very complicated theory-heavy discussion about hostage negotiation. As awful as i feel for saying it, all-in-all, the story would have done better without the chapters with the hostage storyline.
I hope i haven't offended you: i only strive to explain what, in my humbler opinion would make the story even better (despite my slightly harsh-sounding criticism, I did still enjoy the story). I look forward to reading more of your work!

That was a terrific sequence of events - never would have thought of spreading ashes everywhere. At first I just assumed it was an allusion to all of Steph's various fires, but finding out it was human remains (or at least appeared to be) was really freaky. Thanks for sharing.
