I never knew some dubs could be so silly, in Spain we got Tayuya's cursing in all its glory (and in the middle of the day with kiddies watching too), though I'll admit they made Shikamaru play with Asuma's lighter instead of smoking. Still much better than the dreaded Lollipop Solution
...Which now makes me think of Shikamaru in a frenzy because he's on withdrawal while trying to strategize to defeat the horrendous LS.

I love it. I so agree: they'd be irritated as hell. I hate the fact 'dattebayo', which is just an intensified 'to be' verb has to be transformed into something so twee and wrongly meaningful as 'believe it'. I used to watch dubbed (fear not: I was converted), and I only found out Hidan and Tayuya swore a lot through fanfic. I love the bit where he finds out he can't even talk about his religion. Some dubbing studio is going to get it in the neck, later. Possibly this is something even Madara will join the truce on.
And the fact they edited out Shikamaru's nicotine fix is so unfair on the poor guy: I mean, his teacher's died, and they can't let him smoke in peace?
