RD chapter 1 . 1/19/2010 Cracked up laughing at the little bit at the end with the mouse. Oddly enough, out of TP's books & numerous characters, Rikash is one of, if not my number one, favourite character. He's just... awesome (aside from his battlefield nature). The whole slighly abrasive/sarcastic yet almost-human-feelings - his nature, is captured wonderfully in this little oneshot fo yours. V. enjoyable, and great Onua-Rikash convo. -claps hands- Really enjoyed it, not enough Rikash fics out there - RD |
plotbunnyprey chapter 1 . 11/11/2009 You've written Rikash perfectly, with some wonderful if teasing hints about the history of Stormwings. Keep writing, you do it so well :) |
xXthenextbookwormXx chapter 1 . 7/14/2009 If I didn't know better I could have sworn that Rikash either had a crush on or was flirting with Onua... I mean, the comments about how crossing her arms did wonderul things for her figure! At one place, maybe 2/3 of the way down the page it gets a lot confusing about who is speaking. I mean, ‘Speak to Daine often then, do you? Have nice little chit-chats about family, friends and lovers?’ Who was that? Moonsword, or Chamtong? If you could let me know that would be excellent. Loved it, the story was beautiful, and I almost wish it were longer. 3 xXthenextbookwormXx |
LunaSphere chapter 1 . 11/19/2008 This was really interesting exploration of Rikash as a character-you give him much more depth than Pierce does. In the books, it felt to me as if Stormwings suddenly went from pure evil to misunderstood allies and in both versions, there was an ironing out of who they were-at once destestable (as your opening so clearly captures) and deeply sympathetic (as the middle and end of your fic express). Lastly, I was very intrigued by that hint Rikash gives that Stormwings were once humans or something. It's strange, but when he first said "I-We remember" I had this sudden eerie thought that in eating human flesh, somehow, Stormwings consumed human memories and that in place of dreams, they have memories of the humans they've consumed. A sort of reverse cannibalism (although realizing they're different species involved, it's not really cannibalism at all...) where human minds consume the consciousness of Stormwings who consume human bodies. Sorry for the rambling-it has nothing to do with your fic at all! |
secret-scribbled-notebooks chapter 1 . 11/12/2008 That may have been hard for you to write, but it was very special. Rikash is such a darling...:D |
piratelore chapter 1 . 2/10/2007 Rikash has always been one of my favourite characters from the Immortals Series. Sucks that he was killed off the end :(. Its nice to finally see a fic with him being a main character. |
Hedgewitchery chapter 1 . 2/9/2007 I really enjoyed this! You've come up with some fascinating insights, as well as some very funny lines. I do have one quibble, which is that Stormwings are supposed to have a soft spot for children - the one false note I detected in this story was right at the beginning "dined on little boy" ... |
mistywabbit chapter 1 . 2/4/2007 Very good. I really enjoyed the dynamic you put between Onua and Rikash, and especially Rikash's mention of a son - it really picked up on that little hint in canon. Very well written as always. Thanks. :) |
queenshinkokami chapter 1 . 1/30/2007 That was great and I especially liked the way you wrote Rikash's character. |
temerity chapter 1 . 1/29/2007 Haha...amusing, enlightening, and lovely. You've kept Rikash wonderfully in character (but you probably should have included the fact that Onua had an abusive husband-and that's why she's alone now). I loved your overall style, and the natural flow of the dialogue. ALways write on! |
KrisEleven chapter 1 . 1/29/2007 This is awesome. An excellent portayal of Onua and Rikash (my favorite character, btw). I absolutely love it. Definately into my favs list. KrisEleven~ |
