I really liked this story a lot. It was complicated enough that it made you think while reading it. I don't mean to say that I struggled to understand it, It just didn't flow into my head like most books do. the kind of book you don't read when half asleep. I really like your style of writing. and, I would like a sequel!

This is cool. I am known to prefer stories that repair relationships in the original series, but I can actually see those are sometimes not good. applegate didn't make it easy and sometimes when you write a story to fix 54 it comes out... strained or something.
what happened was somewhat jake's fault, as we know he's a really good defensive weapon against love. he singlehandedly destroyed another relationship while doing nothing to help his own. so he should get part of the blame.
but I hate cassie's guts and she can just crawl in a hole and die as far as I'm concerned. so whatever happens, I will not be mad at you.

way to go cassie. I would hardly see this as an opinion simply added to make cassie seem like the original. I'm impressed.

earth has lots, and lots, and LOTS of plants. if it was that easy... but it isn't. in book 54 Ax uses a system that detects DNA of earth origin at a distance. they could map the genetic code of our fruits from the comfort of their own scoops. they don't need to ask our permission.
and yeah, I know carrots are vegetables.

We love how you wrote this - brilliant style: if not for its place of publication, this might pass as a real book.

I really liked the way you started this story in a somewhat familiar (but still perceptibly different) Cassie than we knew throughout the series, and ended up without her having changed so much - but all the changes between the end of the series and the beginning of this story and between the beginning of this story and the end of this story, still seemed so natural, and the progressions in the story still seemed to matter.

Will second others' thoughts though - I didn't get the epilogue, and it didn't seem to fit. If it was a twist on this story that you wanted to include, perhaps it would have been better as a oneshot "in universe" or something, because when it's on the end of this story it doesn't serve as a continuation of the journey you had seemed to have plotted out for the entire story.

How is it that this story doesn't have more reviews? What an intriguing fic. I love that you wrote about Madra and Darwin - what happened to them was one of the many mysteries we were left with.

I found this story a bit uneven in places, but pretty great on the whole. Thanks so much for writing. I'll do my best to come back and review the rest at a later date (because only 9 reviews, really?)

Perhaps I'm missing something obvious, but I don't really understand the epilogue. It seems really random and incongruous, like it belongs to another story entirely. Is it Tobias narrating?

I like the story a lot. Last chapter was a bit confusing, though.

great story- totally believable and interesting capture of cassie's voice post-54- you're giving ronnie a fair treatment and making him a full character, working in the hork bajiir well, and esp. good job w/ your treatments of melissa, darwin and madra. really nice job, can't wait to see where you're going with it :)

I like this story a lot so far. I think the idea of Cassie's sub-temporal-groundedness rooting her to the past is a very good and original idea. I also like what you've done with Darwin and Madra. I look forward to the next chapter!

I am really enjoying this. I enjoyed the dialogue between Cassie and Illim and I can't wait to watch the interaction between Cassie and Melissa.

This is good, I really enjoy the dialogue between her, Toby, Ket, and Ronnie.
