There' a site in German that has weather charts all the way back to the early 1800s that shows temp profiles and weather positions.

I also learned the best position for heat waves in the summer (2003 or the mid 90s) and the dark damp summers they can get such as the 2008-2010 era for more recent dreadful summers which temps barely got to 25C for any length of time with THE HIGH temps often failing to top 20C.
