I think it really works to reference the lifetime he spent with her. Since Death cannot have a relationship (and I am so glad that it seems Methos recognizes this for both their sakes) it is really meaningful to have her spend an entire "life" with him. Maybe she'll make a point of coming back to him in a century, who knows.

The dream portion of the story made me a bit uneasy for a while since it seemed like it was taking the blame from Methos for his actions, but you did give me the means to justify it in my head. Mythos did, after all, ask for revenge as his dream-meaning that the desire for such was in him all along and perhaps Dream just gave him the initial taste. A taste which lead to the disastrous addiction.

Thank you for writing this story. It brings me such joy every time I read it. If a story like this is to be abandoned, I'm glad it ended with this chapter.

I suppose I should give up on this story? It's been about 4 years since you've you please let your readers know that this has been abandoned so that no one else gets hooked on your story, and waits for updates that just don't come.

This is just astounding. Your characterisation of Death is dead (;-)) on and although I don't quite agree with your depiction of Methos, it's good enough to draw me in.
(The Old Man has, in my mind, quite a different vocabulary, and slightly different motivations for becoming a Horseman. To have him become thus simply from interference by the Endless, and only be able to *recover* from it through more interference detracts from Methos' character.)

And now I ask why you've chosen to leave it here? You have a wonderful story here, Methos and the true death..they are perfect together.
