Reviews for Autobot Angels
TheDarkestCon chapter 11 . 6/25/2015
'Death touched him and Optimus awoke from the dream of mortality' The most beautiful sentence created in the history of Transformers. This story had been wonderful albeit bittersweet. My heart twists painfully knowing that the dead went back to save the living even though they'd never be thanked face-to-face again.
Till all are one.
A beautiful, pulling-at-the-sparkstrings story.

Only thing to say is . . . Till all are one.
EdouBunny chapter 11 . 1/5/2012
Man there was some funny parts to the dead Autobot's dialogue XD I rofled at alomst everyone that WASN'T supposed to be heart wrenching. The ones that nearly broke my heart was the conversations where some Autobots will never get to see their comrades again, or how Wheeljack won't finish his latest project anymore. It was clearly heartbreaking.

Loved it all. Laughed then cried a little bit and was excited during the battle of Autobot City. Awesome. Truly awesome.
Muffing chapter 11 . 11/9/2011
This is a heart-lifting and angst-softening story about one of the most devastating events in G1. There's lots to cry about in other stories covering the fight for Autobot City, and your story makes it hurt a little less for me. Thankyou.
LucasVN chapter 11 . 11/3/2011
The second time reading this, and I am still just as amazed as I was the first time around. You really give closure to the movie casualties in am amazing way. I think my favorite parts with Thundercracker, his premonition, and the realization that his and Skywarp's deaths were likely.

One of the few fics that has made me cry. Thank you for writing it. ;)
Supermoi chapter 1 . 7/25/2011
One thing I hated with the movie: They killed up all of my favorite characters. I stopped watching the show after that... And still got that bitter tast everytime I happen to see this again. I stick to season 1 and two, and maybe 2 or 3 of the 3 that are watcheable...

Anyhow... Good story so far I'll give it a good read!
ShiftingWinds125 chapter 11 . 6/18/2011
That was amazing! I teared up a little at the end. You wrote this beautifully!

The dead finally had some closure. I love that. :D

Thank you for writing this.
Zea T chapter 10 . 2/24/2011
This story was very well done. I've always hated the 1986 movie because of the sheer and largely unacknowledged carnage that decimates the ranks of known senior autobots. I wasn't expecting to enjoy a movie fic nearly as much as I did this one - you did a fantastic job of working around what we know of what happened, while keeping all the autobots in character. I love the way you built this fic up through little stories and missions, each one showing the character and relationships of the lost autobots, and the impact they have on those around them. There's a sadness throughout this fic, but a kind of joy too - watching them save lives and the relief everyone feels to have them there has a bittersweet quality which probably peaked with Prowl and Carly, and in Perceptor's encounter.

I very much enjoyed this well-written story - and thank you for posting it!

That was a great story...it made me cry like the dickens, but it was a great story. Thanks.
The Perfect Spell chapter 11 . 10/28/2010
Thank you for writing this awesome story. At least the dead 'Bots have some kind of closer here.
StarDotStar chapter 11 . 10/2/2010
I just finished reading this, having found it through another author's favourites, and I can't count the number of times I had chills run up and down my spine.

You really gave the Battle of Autobot City a sense that it lasted for a long time, much better than the movie did, and all while not showing more than brief glimpses of it. You could feel First Aid's desperation, his feel that he wouldn't, _couldn't_ be enough, not enough to save even a fraction of those who needed him - his relief at having Ratchet and Wheeljack was palpable.

And then there's how you showed Blitzwing and Astrotrain. Let alone Skywarp and Thundercracker (well, really only Thundercracker, but Skywarp was a part of it, too), even broken and dying (or worse, soon enough), friends to the end.

I've got to wonder what happened to Megatron, Thundercracker and Skywarp (whether or not Skywarp got made into Cyclonus, or just his 'Armada'), in relation to the Matrix. I mean, they didn't just die - they got remade by The Great Enemy, and were never the same. Hell, Galvatron was literally insane after his little bath!

Cyclonus and Scourge never really showed any memory of who they were before their 'upgrade', but Galvatron _knew_ that he was once Megatron. Did Skywarp and Thundercracker exist in the Matrix as separate entities, once Unicron did his thing? If they did, what about Megatron? He _agreed_ to the change, after all. If they didn't, what happened to them? Did they exist once Cyclonus and Scourge died, as another consciousness running off the same spark? Or were they wiped forever from the face of the universe? Hell, do Unicronian transformers even _go_ to the Matrix, or has their interaction with Unicron forever barred them from that last resting place?

...anyway, I really enjoyed the story, and it really got to me, and got me thinking as evident by the above. I'll stop now, as I'm sure you don't want to hear any more of my ramblings.
Kathrine chapter 11 . 12/4/2009
This was a wonderful take on the '86 movie. I loved the banter between the 'angels', and the reactions everyone else had towards their appearances. And the bits with Carly and Prowl near the end were really heart-wrenching.

But what really got me was this line:

"You have to admit, only Starscream could not notice that he's chasing a guy that he killed not twelve hours ago."

Because really, Starscream /is/ the only one self-centered enough to not pick up on that. XD;
ThatOneFan chapter 11 . 9/2/2009
great story Dragon~ There is now way the the 'Bots would fade gently into the night when their companions still needed them!

But i don't get the 2:07 am thing, what did Prowl and Carly mean?

I Love fics 'bout 'Bots that died in TFTM, i can't seem to find many of them, good OR bad.

Bu this one is good! Huzzah for the dead Autobots~

Dealing With It Now chapter 11 . 8/7/2008
... I need tissues. Badly. This is the first fan fiction that has ever gotten me to /actually/ cry. Sure, I've got choked up before, but these are legitimate tears! I have never read a better fic regarding the Battle of Autobot City. This was such a unique point of view, and it was so well done. Blew me away, it did.

Now I need to go read some crack or something in which all of my favorite 'bots do not die. xD If I read something else this good and sad again today, I think I'll dehydrate myself through my tears (if that's really possible). I'd read it again and again and again if I wasn't afraid of crying anew. Thank you so much for this story, it was so unbelievably moving and comical at the same time.
