This was really good, but I wanted more! Your ending just seemed a little abrupt. I hope you take this as the compliment I meant it to be. I wanted more of this story! This read like an episode and grabbed me from the start!

Amazing story. I have read this before and am ashamed to find I hadn't reviewed it, so am righting that wrong now! Awesome injured Sam, falling through a plate glass patio door, could imagine him lying there bleeding out as I read. And poor Sam with those visions, thinking he needed to sacrifice himself to save Dean. Thank goodness he was too weak to make a run for it and Dean quickly hauled his backside out of there. Great ending with their little talk and loved the banter

Dean carefully lowered Sam onto the bed. “Listen, Bitch, if you ever pull a stunt like that again I’ll kill you myself,” Dean said as he reached forward and chucked Sam under the chin.

“Listen, Jerk, if you ever hit me again I’m going to vomit all over your car,” Sam answered back, grabbing Dean’s hand. For once Dean didn’t tug out of his grip and even perched on the side of Sam’s bed to stay close.

Glad Dean managed to stop Sam's suicidal idea. How did Sam recover from a fatal condition though? Good story!

Now I can rest a little happier. This final chapter, so utterly heartbreaking, so bittersweet, has managed to keep both boys together despite my wildest fears. Cleverly you worked in the punch from Dean from Sam's earlier vision, but the punch is what has kept him alive and is what is driving him away from New Madrid and under the safer protection of his brother's now all knowing stare.

Wonderful reflective story, helping to bridge a greater understanding of what the various burdens are that each brother carries. And as you end with them both finally 'talking' there is left some idea of hope for them both. Loved this story. Roz.

No,no, no! Please don't let our Sammy die, not like this? My heart was in my mouth when he made a grab for Dean's hand and afforded him Worlds-Greatest-Brother status knowing that he was so near to the end of all things when it came to being with his brother. Now he has slipped off alone, to stop the demon, just what will happen next? The brothers apart are never a good thing, and my heart can't stop beating in dread at what is to come. Another way to inciteful chapter, making my eyes leak more than a little! Roz.

Sam defying medical science just about sums up his tenacity to do things his own way, besides no way in hell was he going to miss out on his vision and die in hospital! Poor Dean truly is at a loss here, trying to be the big protective big brother but not equipped to face off against medical science and what truly Sam's destiny is with his connection to the demon. Loved how you offered up that much needed hug between the two boys, even if it was something a Winchester was not supposed to do, damn it just felt so right...! Again what a great chapter to feast down on. Roz

P.s. burnt the dinner (ala frozen pizza) in R & R here and am now labelled the worst mother from hell from my child who has decided that the Hagen Daaz icecream is way more edible (the precocious little brat should have been able to cook it herself I say!).
