interesting how you claim you wanna stay true to the original idea of the show and keep it kid friendly despite having sokka comment multiple times in the previous installment of this series that zuko seemed schizophrenic. real classy.

I love this fic. Zuko is my favorite character in AtlA and I adore that he’s front and center. I’m also a Zutatian si I enjoy little hints and moments here and there. Most importantly I’m enjoying the gaang coming together forming friendships and loyalty. 10 plus years since the show ended and still in a bit this fandom and enjoy discovering and rediscovering talent writers like you.

This series is pretty good so far - I like how Zuko is still essentially conflicted and only siding with Aang because Azula pushed him into it. He wasn't able to separate out what was really good from what his father would want in the series at this point, and it's really good that you aren't changing that.

One problem with this chapter: Suki's injuries are definitely lifethreatening. Pre-antibiotics, serious burns were practically a death sentence, as were most cuts deeper than a hangnail. Bad burns on multiple limbs, dirty cuts on feet, major bruises and an incapacitated or torn knee will take months to heal fully, if they heal at all, and she would most likely die of infection. There's no cause for relief here, it's confirmation of everything Sokka was afraid of.

I like how you invest so much effort into including minor characters like Momo and the Earth King.

Nicely written and quite enjoyable to read. You are doing a good job of capturing the drama and interest of the show so far with these. The ending felt a bit rushed as it sort of went from big trouble, to seemingly trivial victory and surrender, but it is understandable and very canon as most would agree that the characters, as they are shown, are generally quite over-powered.
