Nice little nod to the events of "The Face of Evil", BTW, though I think Terrance Dicks stated in his novelisation of the story that the Doctor actually ended up helping them during the events of "Robot", slipping away in the TARDIS temporarily.

This is really cute! Sarah Jane is one of my favorite companions, and having her explain the side trips was clever. The idea makes really good sense, and you wonder that it wasn't used more often in the series. I like this a lot!
