Very enjoyable story. Sasuke and Iruka are both kept true to themselves despite traveling very far afield from canon. I can think of only one plot criticism, though:

Did I miss something, or did Sasuke never have to answer to anyone but himself for attempting to murder Naruto (in cold blood, repeatedly, and then with the final attempt which was pretty hot-blooded and nearly successful)? I mean, refraining from the murder the last time after Naruto was rendered unconscious after specifically trying NOT to kill him certainly doesn't seem like atonement. It also seems like something Iruka in particular would have a very serious problem with, *and* that Sasuke would be unable to hide (that is, unable to hide his discomfort over).

This is fantastic. I loved it all the way. This is probably the only story where Sasuke's return/not going to Sound is very believable.

This was a great story. There really aren't a whole lot of stories revolving around Iruka and Sasuke, and then to actually find a longer one-you can imagine how ecstatically happy I was to stumble over this one. And this really is an amazing story. You capture not only the core characteristics of each person, but also the smaller changes of how they act towards different individuals. Such as Sasuke being more emotional around Iruka than others. Also, I thought you developed Iruka's skills very well, giving his advanced espionage abilities both strengths and weaknesses.

This was a nice way to wrap up the story, seeing them starting to get back to normal and talking about what happened.

I liked how Kakashi made the comparison between Iruka and Sandaime, they've always struck me as having similar personalities-so full of mischief ;)

Good story. Interesting characterisation of Iruka, who would have thought? No bloodline, no secret, just Henge... a great idea. Iruka, the perfect spy. I like it. Sasukes turning back was not OOC and the genjutsu was very... confusing. But I think the timejumps were the point, right? The last scene with Kakashi was just great *g* Now I really wish to know what Ibiki has to say about Iruka. Thanks for the enjoyment of your story, bye

I can't believe I didn't find this story sooner. Anyways, I got confused in the beginning when Sasuke started those weird dreams, but I'm glad I didn't abandon this story at that point. The ending is nice but I hope you can continue this? Maybe a story with this timeline but another plot?

this was a very sweet...and somewhat sharp ending... sharp like a blade mind you, i got the feeling that iruka was sending out warnings or something - i would kill to see you write a chibi piece with that little machine dialogue.

seriously your stories are awesome and i'm done guilt-tripping for just reading and not commenting so i'm posting a review ( more of a feedback really) coz i appreciate how unique your writing is and how absolutely wonderful your iruka is. makes me wonder if sasuke had actually been more exposed to iruka would everything have turned out the way it is? i dislike sasuke but really can't blame him for his actions :-)
